Lead image[edit]

The image there is a bit much. I know not censored and all, but it was huge and confrontational, and we attempt to make Wikipedia as accessable as possible. - brenneman {L} 07:34, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As it says: some articles may include objectionable text, images, or links if they are relevant to the content (such as the article about pornography).

The images used in this article are all fair use (they have been tagged and sourced appropriately) and are indeed relevant to the text content. I have edited some of the "non-encyclopedic" text as per your suggestions (I agree that some of the text was too subjective and overwritten).

In my editorial opinion the lead image is appropriate to the nature of the article and it provides a useful and necessary visual accompaniment to the text description. However, I have reduced the size of the lead image to make it appear a bit less "confrontational".

I have also embedded six citations linking to verifiable web sources in the text of this article.

I agree with brenneman on the pictures. As per Wikipedia:WikiProject_Porn_stars#Structure, "images should not be explicit in nature". Unless and until it can be shown that the article cannot be served with a non-nude image, I'm pulling the image out. Tabercil 20:41, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've changed the lead image to something less explicit. I think the still image in the article is necessary to illustrate relevant descriptive passages in the body of the article without being explicit. I also agree with the abridgement of the Selected Filmography. Hopefully we have reached a reasonable editorial compromise that leaves everybody happy with this article. Better. The lead image is still a bit risqué and over the top in my opinion, but at least there's no glaring nudity present. Ideally, I'd prefer a safe non-nude image similar to the ones used to illustrate Tera Patrick, Calli Cox or Ginger Lynn. As for the still, I'm going to reserve judgment on that for now. Tabercil 22:39, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good. I think you were probably right in your suggestions and it is a much better article now, both in terms of pictures and text. User:Jaiwills 21:11, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Xtreme monique ponygirl.jpg[edit]

I've removed the image from the article because as it is currently used it does not meed WP:FU. From the Counterexamples section of the fair use article:

8. An image of a living person that merely shows what they look like.

IMO, the image can be used later on the article where it is a useful illustration of the "Erotic persona and style" section, but not in the infobox. Tabercil 20:21, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

information[edit]

Much of the information on this page is incorrect. There is also a large chunk of information missing and it seems most information has come from one source.

Monique's birthname IS Monika Visi. Until recently she had one sister, who died.

Monique didn't sign any exclusive contract with Private until after she had shot Xtreme Desires in London - I know because I had to convince her to sign it as she was under pressure from Helen Duval in Holland to sign a similar contract for her company.

She was Private's first ever contract girl.

There is a large chunk of Moniques career missing on the site between her working for Woodman and Xtreme Desires. She was living and working under contract to the German based company "Helen Duval" - This company was originally set up between dutch porn star Helen Duval and German Producer Oliver Chezc (sp). Things eventually went sour and they split - Monique was her replacement and The company continued making movies labled "Helen Duval" but starring Monique.

So Monique was kinda known as Helen Duval to a lot of people, even though she never called herself that. When Monique left that company a third girl called Drew Berrymore took over the role. So there are three Helen Duval's.

Monique's split with HD in Germany was not a good one and I met her shortly after in Prague where I managed to get some photosets of her for Pirate magazine and she also made a cameo appearence in a Frank Thring movie that was being shot.

It was at this point Private were looking for contract stars and I put monique forward as a possibility.

In a freak chance occourance Dutch Helen Duval was also staying in Prague and I actually managed to get Helen 1 and Helen 2 talking together over coffee. There had been a lot of bitterness between them up to that point - mainly caused by other parties. The two girls got on well together and I arranged a photo shoot to be taken of them. Originally the idea was to get a boxing ring and have the 2 Helens "fighting it out", but lack of time and budget retraints meant we had to improvise - so a pillow fight in the Prague Hilton was what we shot. As seen on the cover here: http://www.prvt.com/media/magazines/PIR052/pir052_3.jpg

Most of the information quoted about Moniques sexual tastes were semi-fictional, written by me. I spent quite a lot of time with her between her leaving HD and her 3rd Pirate movie. Information in printed interviews should not be considered factual ;)

Maybe this is also a more suitable image for you to use. This was taken by me on Monique's 25th birthday and I am happy to donate it to wiki. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/6779/moniquecovethf4.jpg

::Evilenglishman, since you seem to know the subject personally, why don't you add the information to the body of the article yourself.
