Assessment[edit]

I have assessed the article as class C for wikiproject law enforcement. The article is close to a B class and I would be happy to reassess it if these concerns are addressed:

  • The lead should be expanded.
  • The 2004-present: Manger and a new headquarters>Controversy section should probably be folded in the previous section (2014: Interstate 270 closure) per WP:CSECTION. Also, there are some style and grammar issues in that section (e.g. "...with reports of...", "... without any explanation why").
  • Some content is has WP:CITEOVERKILL.
  • The quote parameter in the citation templates is overused. It should really be limited to passages where quotes serve to verify potentially disputed information.
  • The 2014: School bomb threats section may be a little off-topic. Is the content really about the police department?
  • Are the rank insignia significantly different from other police departments? If not, I would consider omitting them.
  • The last three images on the left on the History section don't add much to the article, in my opinion. Images should add to a readers understaning of the subject.
  • The 'In popular culture' section is a list. Ideally this should be prose. WP:POPCULTURE may be helpful.
  • The Facebook external link should be omitted per WP:ELNO#Social
  • I would consider omitting the external links to the archived versions of the departments website, unless they contain something of unique encyclopedic value.
