Removed third image[edit]

I've gone ahead and removed the image of the "Carpet snake hibernating behind stereo system(for warmth)." It's certainly not a natural setting and it's even possible that the scene is to some extent a fabrication. If anything, it's more a novelty photo than anything else. In my estimation, it's presence at this point also makes this article a little too image heavy. --Jwinius (talk) 12:56, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Snake eats chicken image[edit]

Can anyone confirm this snake's identity as a variegata? With the reddish ground colour and elongate pale lateral stripes I'd swear this is a bredli (Centralian Carpet) rather than a variegata (Northwestern Carpet) which tend to have a much simpler pattern of transverse dark inclusions. Checked the original stated source and there is no mention as to what type of carpet python this is - she misidentifes a water dragon as a bearded lizard so the original author may not know anyway.Ozraptor4 (talk) 03:50, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm concerned that Morelia spilota variegata is being confused with Morelia spilota harrisoni. the M s harrisoni designation has been given to the M spilota found in West Papua New Guinea (Irian Jaya) to distinguish between the two snakes, which are more properly different subspecies and not in fact the same thing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.107.57.197 (talk) 22:37, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
