The Moses Wheeler Bridge was named after an English immigrant that immigrated to the Stratford area in the 1600's, and operated a ferry in the same area as the bridge now stands. Moses Wheeler was the first European settler to live to be 100 years old in America.

I did not add this information to the article, as I just created an account, and I am not familiar with how to edit within Wikipedia - I'll leave that to you experts. Mikebeard3 22:29, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
