This appears to be an article that is largely about Motivational Interviewing, and much of what it says seems outdated. The article should be updated and should be edited to cite references that clearly define what is meant by "Motivational Therapy" and that clearly distinguish it from Motivational Interviewing. In the absence of such references, the article seems redundant to the article on Motivational Interviewing. Sprwhwk (talk) 20:23, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I question whether this article should be merged with the article on Motivational Interviewing. The current article describes Motivational Therapy as a precursor to CBT, which MI frequenty is. The authors cited, Miller and Rollnick, created MI, not MT. Further, I see no difference in this article that implies MT is a noteworthy adaptation of MI. 71.176.152.76 (talk) 00:24, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In my original article i have included footnotes, i believe these to be important in supporting the thesis of the srticle. Please advise on how i may add such.

Fixed the references, Note though, that I have removed your personal thanks and authorship note in the article. Encyclopedia articles don't have personal asides or list their authors, just references. As to footnotes, one way of doing them is like this: add {{ref|Last name of author}} at the spot you want the footnote to appear. Then, under the references section, type #{{note|same last name}} text of footnote. Note that the surrounding symbols must be braces--->{{}} not parentheses. --Fuhghettaboutit 07:53, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
