Split proposal[edit]

Having recently obtained the New Zealand Electoral Atlas, I can now see and appreciate the physical extents of the various electorates. This article claims that Motueka and Massacre Bay was renamed for the 1860 election, when in fact the area was split, and Golden Bay (then called Massacre Bay) went to the new Collingwood electorate. So I would argue that Motueka is rather a case of a completely new electorate. Any thoughts? Schwede 66 10:59, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
