Title[edit]

I notice that the interviewer from the referenced Sky News clip called him "Doctor Moussa". Trafford09 (talk) 09:40, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To begin! I've noticed the great work you've put into turning this article into something other than a stub. I made a stub when I used Moussa Ibrahim as the source for Moussa Koussa's name... and then discovered that this guy, who everyone remembers at least from the famous hallucinogens interview, had no entry! So I slapped something together, hoping, correctly, that someone like you would come by and start fleshing it out. So: thank you!
Anyway, as to "doctor". "Almost a PhD" is like "almost pregnant"-- until it happens, it has not happened, regardless of force or duration of anticipation. But: tell people you have "Doctor" in front of your name, and they go with it!-- Also: first I thought his thesis needed only a few touch-ups and it's done (like if it were a number of small amendments). No no, I re-read the source: "Supervisors are awaiting a small number of required amendments to his thesis". That means like four or five of something-- but they could be very significant tasks. I could richly speculate about his personality interacting with some thesis committees I've seen!... but, long story short: "Dr" is what he wants, not has.
Incidentally, this seems to happen a lot. When I made a stub entry for William Tam... there were many sources referring to him as Dr. Tam, but nowhere was there even a suggestion of what in, or where from. He was offered as an expert witness in the Prop 8 trial, and he desperately needed credibility in that case, but, where everyone else offered their credentials, he never offered anything. It (and he) was all very strange.
At least with Moussa Ibrahim's situation, we know the school, and the (not-done) status.
Or maybe he has just granted himself a doctorate from University of Himself, in Tripoli.
Or simply changed his first name to "Doctormoussa"!
Watching that interview with Anderson Cooper makes me rule out none of these possibilities! -- Sean M. Burke (talk) 12:57, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
To Sean M. Burke: thanks for the pat on the back - and kudos to you for starting the article. I'd um-ed and ah-ed about starting one for a few days & I'm glad you beat me to it! As for the man's title, I see your point, and note another editor also agrees with you. I've no conviction either way on the title WP uses for him - I'm happy for any editor to change as they see fit (not that it matters what I think anyway of course). Dr. Moussa Ibrahim is alive and in good health It looks like he escaped? But where the hell is this plane?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.50.120.53 (talk) 03:19, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Arabic-Wikipedia Entry[edit]

The Arabic Wikipedia entry for Moussa Ibrahim needs... everything!
It's just a tiny stub that I've put together-- and, folks, I don't speak a word of Arabic. Thank god for Google Translate, and that I can copy and paste, even tho it's agony because I'm unfamiliar in dealing with bidirectional text.
So... Arabic speakers, please help: "موسى إبراهيم - ويكيبيديا، الموسوعة الحرة"
