Source?[edit]

The last sentence of this brief and questionable article needs specific sourcing. There are no published post-mortem accounts that list any stab wounds on Custer's body. To the contrary, witnesses who found the body note only two bullet wounds on the front, one to the left temple and one in the region of the heart (this includes reports by Godfrey and Edgerly). Both also report (a report that has been questioned) no other signs of mutilation. As brief as this is, some substantiation of its specific claims is necessary. Fast Eagle (according to the first link provided under sources) claimed that she helped him kill Custer, but many Indians claimed to have killed him. It is very likely that Fast Eagle simply helped her kill a white man who he believed was Custer. The article doesn't claim that she neccessarily killed him, its just repeating what Fast Eagle stated. There is, though, some kind of Wiki formula that I myself am just beginning to learn for specifying references (as you did above by referring to the first link) in the actual text of the article. Glad to be of help. When I need to make references work, I usually copy the format from an article with citations, and change the title, author, etc. to the one that I am referring to, then I past it into the article that I'm working on. Try copying from this article, it has many examples as to how to insert references Timeline of women in ancient warfare. If you click on the edit button where it says "references", you'll find a reflist template at the bottom that will automatically list references when you insert it. Hello As - I see that you have tried to answer whoever marked the article for deletion on the basis of "non-notability," and I'm glad you did because I think that your entire section on the LBH page of NA involved in the battle adds to it greatly. However, I also note that you've removed your added comment (in response to my observation) about the absence of stab wounds on GAC and the testimony of the seasoned officers who found him that he died from one (or both) of two bullet wounds. I'm guessing that that final observation might have disappeared because it seemed to reduce the "notability" of MRW if she did not kill GAC. I would disagree, however. It is a virtual certainty that by Fast Eagle's statement she had no part in the slaying of Custer. The true nature of her notability, however, I would submit is that she was a woman involved in the combat - something that even relatively more famous NA women like Cheyenne Kate Bighead could not even claim. Your article's leaving open the possibility that MRW killed Custer renders it now deletable on the basis of accuracy, and there is a legion of LBH students and authorities working on the page who might well suggest doing so. I'm not going to jump in and edit it, but you might consider adding something of the above to guve it a bit more historical muscle. Cheers...Sensei48 (talk) 04:54, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't intend to remove my addition about the stab wounds...the last guy who edited this article (User:62.64.200.97) been going around to various articles that I was the last to work on removing latest edits as well as adding deletion notices. I removed the deletion notice but I didn't see that he also removed my last edit. I've fixed it and I've also reported him to administrators for wikistalking. I hope that this guy either stops doing this or gets blocked, he's certainly made things more difficult for me. Asarelah (talk) 05:08, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
