Mrs. America 2023 Pageant[edit]

The table of Titleholders clearly indicates: Titleholders are designated by year of title/reign; competitions are held the preceding fall

I find this confusing. As of this writing, the pageant was held on 20 Aug 2022 where they crowned the 2023 Mrs. America. But was that the "2022 Pageant" or the "2023 Pageant"? If it's the "2022 Pageant" then the intro seems incorrect, (or at least misleading) when it says "Mrs. America 2023 Pageant" (that was my edit based on the existing text). This was the "2022 Pageant" to crown "Mrs. America 2023". I cannot find the terminology that the pageant uses. I think Wikipedia should be clear. Amead (talk)

The Complainant is the owner of a Unites States trademark registration number 2,130,222 for MRS. AMERICA®. The service mark is used in connection with the promotion of sales of goods and services to others by conducting beauty pageants. The MRS. AMERICA® was first used by Complainant in 1976^[1]

The 1957 Mrs. America Pageant was sponsered by Northwest Natural Gas and the recipient of the title "Mrs. America" was Cleo Maletis. The pageant, it seems according to a fuller view of its [the pageant entitled "Mrs. America"] history, became an incorporated body in 1976. Before 1976, the Mrs. America Pageant still had the same name, but legally wasn't an incorporated body. Therefore this current article "Mrs. America" should read "Mrs. America, Inc" if you feel so inclined to get down to the nitty gritty because it's a privately held, for profit firm now.

The reason I bring this up is because Cleo Maletis is my grandmother who has now forgotten she was Mrs. America due to Alzheimers and I feel that creating a Wiki article on her is a fitting and sincere tribute to her incredible life. If the current Mrs. America, Inc. doesn't recognize past recipients of the title, then they're doing themselves a disservice by refusing to honor past recipients who were called "Mrs. America" just as they are today.

I think it would be good to get down to the bottom of the evolution of the pageant and its organizing body over time. My late grandmother was Mrs. Newark 1949 and competed in that year's Mrs. America pageant; at that time, contestants represented individual cities. If there is a completely separate pageant or organization that existed in the 40s and 50s, it should have an article and there should be a disambiguation page. If there's legitimate continuity between the two pageants, information to that effect should be incorporated into this article. --DavidK93 (talk) 19:51, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Page move[edit]

I’ve moved this page to a disambiguated title as it is nowhere near the primary topic (viz).
OTOH the 2020 miniseries may well have boost in views due to recentism, suggesting that may not be primary either.
