Why does no one seem to understand that he was only charged with the crime, not asked for a plea (yet)? You need to understand that his exact words, when charged, were: "guilty or not guilty - guilty". That entire statement was his complete sentence. This is not the same as being asked "how do you plea?" in a court and giving a response of "guilty". Read the Irish Times article again.
