Why an article about Yara[edit]

I understand, to the murder victims there isn't an article but the case of Yara was the most debated case of disapperence/murder in Italy since November 2010 that is why an article with is name exist. If there is other concerns about the name of the article it can be renamed but wikipedia needs an article about the case of Yara. User:Lucifero4

The case has been certainly keeping the Italian media busy for many months and had political implications. I would suggest avoiding deletion discussions until the case is somehow solved, by then it should become clear if it is notable for the English WP. Richiez (talk) 14:39, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Update on notability[edit]

The criminal case is scheduled to be "put on ice"/archived 2 years after the girl was found dead, that would be end of February 2013. I think around that date would be a good time to discuss notability and update the article if it is deemed notable enough. The case has been certainly exceptional by pushing forensic medicine and telecoms surveillance far beyond their limits.

Short update on investigation - according to Italian media the father of the supposed murderer has been identified by DNA samples and was a bus driver from the region who died several years ago. The lick of a stamp has been for many months the only indication of this, recently a young male relative of him with a similar genetic profile was found. According to genetic analysis the murderer would be an illegitimate son of the bus driver. The bus driver was married, has some other children and was well remembered for his strong family bonding and nobody has an idea that he would have extramarital affairs. The case has not been archived, it is concluding in June 2016 and an initial sentence is likely in July 2016 - it is an extremely controversial case in Italy with very strong suspicions that a lot of evidence is being ignored, somebody is being protected and an innocent man has been set up.DH987 (talk) 18:53, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
