Muslim Brotherhood[edit]

What is the proof that they are near to the Muslim Brotherhood? Are they near or are they the Muslim Brotherhood in France? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.59.116.96 (talk) 04:01, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

French MuslimsMuslims of France (organization) – The title is wrong: "Musulmans de France" does not mean "French Muslims" (that would be "Musulmans français") but "Muslims of France". The implication is that this organization aims to attract not only Muslims who have French citizenship, but all Muslims who live in France (including immigrants). Also, the title should imply that this is the name of an organization: despite what their name implies, it does not represent all the Muslims of France. "French Muslims" (and Muslims of France, for that matter) should redirect to Islam in France. Psychloppos (talk) 12:18, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. This is about a specific organisation, not French Muslims in general. JIP | Talk 13:48, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Support. Per WP:ASTONISH. A reader looking for information about French Muslims will be very confused to see instead this organization. Esolo5002 (talk) 14:53, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support If I saw that title without context my first guess would have been that the article was about Muslims living in Franc not a particle organization.--65.92.162.81 (talk) 04:05, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Musulmans de France. Not generally seen in translation and avoids having to disambiguate as nobody will be expecting to see an article about French Muslims in general on English Wikipedia with a French title. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:23, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Why not, even though I think it would be better to have a title in English, just for the sake of consistency. French Council of the Muslim Faith has a title in English, so having "Musulmans de France" in French would seem a bit affected IMHO. However, the most important thing is that "French Muslims" and "Muslims of France" redirect to Islam in France, so no one will be misled into thinking that this organization represents all Muslims living in France and/or with French citizenship. The current title is unsuitable. Psychloppos (talk) 11:59, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
