NAIT stationNAIT/Blatchford Market station – On January 20, the "temporary" NAIT station will close and will be replaced by a permanent station called NAIT/Blatchford Market station. NAIT station was open for about 8 years and is located about 150m away from the new station. I think we have two options:

  1. One article. We complete this move and have one article that covers the history of the temporary and permanent stations.
  2. Two articles. We don't move this article and keep NAIT station about the former station. Then we create NAIT/Blatchford Market station to be an article about the new station. BLAIXX 18:10, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support option one. No need for two articles. 162 etc. (talk) 18:24, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Option one is the better option in this scenario. A section can be created for the former NAIT station ShallowC (talk) 04:53, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Option 1. Per what the others here have already said. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 04:59, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was also leaning towards #1 since this feels like one single topic. BLAIXX 01:53, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"NAIT station" article?[edit]

In Calgary a VERY similar situation happened with the 10 Street SW Station, with the station being replaced by Downtown West–Kerby Station. Even though the new NAIT/Blatchford Market Station is in very close proximity to the old NAIT Station, I think the two stations are different enough to warrant separate articles. I believe that considering the fact that NAIT Station operated on it's own for 8 years makes it stand on it's own separate from the new station.

NAIT/Blatchford Market comes from a different transit project than NAIT, with it coming from the same project as Blatchford Gate (see: attached link). Meanwhile NAIT Station came from the initial 2015 Metro Line.

I think considering how different the two stations are, alongside how the two stations come from separate city projects, warrants the two stations having separate articles. CnekYT (talk) 02:07, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

One difference between NAIT station and 10 Street SW station is that NAIT was always intended to be temporary. That's why the original had a bare bones design and was only long enough for 3-car trains. BLAIXX 04:49, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Right. They're two iterations of the same station. One article is enough. 162 etc. (talk) 17:02, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Shouldn't there be separate widgets for NAIT/Blatchford Market and NAIT stations at least in the article? (kind of like how there's a separate widget for the transit centre for Stadium station (Edmonton)) CnekYT (talk) 17:17, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's no transit centre at NAIT. 162 etc. (talk) 17:45, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
