NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw

What happened to the Brokaw title card? Also, why is this section so short? Shouldn't we mention Brokaw at the Berlin Wall and other accomplishments that he made during his tenure at Nightly News? Mwhayes1995 (talk) 23:16, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Live Broadcasts

I believe that the show is broadcast live on the East coast, but is this also the case in other timezones? Or, do these timezones just see a recording of the east coast broadcast? I think this would be an interesting note for the article. Jrmski 00:08, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Sample announcer intros

The list of minute variations of wording appearing in NBC Nightly News' "sample announcer intros" strikes me as trivial, sort of approaching the level of cataloging all the different colors of ties worn by anchors, so I think it sort of detracts from the quality of the article. If this threat tries to stop me, my friends that have the capabilities to do so this will be the concenquences of the knowage of the building of all the projects too all the world. Natalie Morales

Until there is a reliable source that says Natalie Morales is the interim anchor of the weekend newscasts, don't put her there. I have yet to see a source stating that she is taking over weekends during this time. Corkythehornetfan | Chat? 15:30, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

Introduction, Paragraph 2

In the introduction, the second paragraph is confusing to me. It tells you a time, but not in what Time Zone. Also, the second sentence seems mixed up. Does anyone else notice this? Buscus 3 (talk) 23:59, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

It says from 6:30-7:00 pm Eastern. Eastern is the time zone, and is linked to the Eastern Time Zone article. It doesn't seem confusing to me... Corkythehornetfan^Talk 03:49, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

The program is broadcast live over most NBC stations from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time seven days a week. I know this is true in the Eastern and Central time zones, but don't the Mountain and Pacific stations carry it on tape delay unless there's breaking news by the time it normally airs in their areas? I'm just wondering if Eastern plus Central, but not Mountain and Pacific, can be said to be "most" NBC stations. This inclusion/edit war of the phrase "with Brian Williams" is silly. This show has always been basically "NBC Nightly News" since 1970, regardless of the current weeknight anchor or weekend editions. Zzyzx11 (talk) 19:09, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

@Wowee Zowee public: I'm also puzzled how Brian Williams makes this "not the same show".[1] How does Williams make the show different than say, for example, when David Brinkley, John Chancellor or Tom Brokaw was the anchor? This is not The Tonight Show where you had different hosts bringing a whole set of comedy routines, which required that main article to be split into separate The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, etc. articles. The gist of the duties of a news anchor or reader, and really the basic format of a news program, has not really changed. And all content regarding the NBC Nightly News is on this one single article. There is no separate NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams page -- that is currently a redirect back here. So could you please explain how Brian Williams' presence makes the show significantly "different" than when Brinkley, Chancellor and Brokaw were there? Interim weekend anchors

Is there an official source that Peter Alexander and Carl Quintanilla have been named interim anchors of the weekend editions while Holt is doing weeknights, or for the dates of the weekends that Holt anchored after Williams' suspension? @Zzyzx11: Why don't we just remove him like I had in this edit until a source can be provided. Like I said in the edit summary: "right now, the weekend anchors vary; Alexander isn't the permanent interim Sunday anchor during William's suspension." Corkythehornetfan 14:00, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Weekend editions

Until there is a reliable source that states that Peter Alexander is the official replacement of Lester Holt on the weekends, do not add him. This is unsourced, and I will be glad to revert it. Right now it has varied between him, Carl Quintanilla, Kate Snow, Savannah Guthrie, and I'm sure others. Thanks. Corkythehornetfan 23:06, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Jose Diaz-Balart

An 75.131.45.14 keeps adding Jose Diaz-Balart as the Saturday anchor. He is STILL one of several rotating anchors. NBC News has yet to confirm a permanent anchor for Saturday (if they ever do). I added a cite. The Saturday anchors are definitely rotating as of 19 November. Feel free to provide a more recent source to confirm this. I am keeping an eye on this page, and on Jose's article where I added the same cite and removed the claim of sole anchorship. BethNaught (talk) 15:35, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
