Fair use rationale for Image:NHTILogo.gif[edit]

Image:NHTILogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Name change[edit]

The actual name change is to New Hampshire Technical Institute - Concord's Community College. I drove by there today to verify this. We were told that our name was not going to change, well they added a slogan, but did not change the name. SayCheeeeeese (talk) 07:27, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update Wikipage name to reflect correct title of college[edit]

The title page of this wiki page needs to be updated. The college changed is name in 2007 from New Hampshire Technical Institute to NHTI - Concord's Community College. Please updated information. The college name is NOT New Hampshire Technical Institute - Concords Community College.

New Hampshire Technical InstituteNHTI - Concords Community College — This college changed its name to NHTI - Concords Community College in 2007. The Wiki page should be updated to reflect the correct title of the college. .--24.60.129.215 (talk) 02:25, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. The website for the college is titled NHTI (in large text), then "Concord's Community College" in much smaller text. "NHTI, Concord's Community College" may be the official name, but I strongly doubt anyone actually refers to it as such in everyday conversation or writing. They would refer to it as "NHTI", short for "New Hampshire Technical Institute", the name of the article, or "New Hampshire Tech". (Note, also, that "Concords Community College", as proposed, is clearly wrong, as it lacks the apostrophe.) Wikipedia is full of examples where the full legal title of an entity is not used in favor of the everyday usage. Finally, NHTI, Concord's Community College already exists as a redirect. --Ken Gallager (talk) 13:40, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change[edit]

Ken, in regards to your previous comment.... You are incorrect. NHTI is simply four letters put together. NHTI as of 2008 no longer stands for New Hampshire Tech... The PROPER name of the college is, NHTI, Concords Community college....... "NHTI was opened in 1965 under the name New Hampshire Technical Institute with three engineering technology programs. In 2008, the name of the College was changed to NHTI, Concord's Community College. This name honors our past and reflects our growth to a comprehensive community college with 63 academic programs and full campus life." SOURCE: http://www.nhti.edu/nhtiglance.html

The college is no longer called New Hampshire Technical Institute, and the page should be updated accordingly. If you get a degree from the college it will not say New Hampshire Technical Institute, it says, NHTI Concords Community College. If you receive a bill from them it will say NTHI Concords Community College, etc... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.60.129.215 (talk) 22:39, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would support (but will not propose myself) a name change to NHTI. That would be in line with places like Kentucky Fried Chicken changing to KFC, and as you can see, it already exists as a redirect. (But again, what does the NHTI stand for? Nothing at this point?) But in the interests of WP:CONCISE, I remain opposed to unwieldy titles, no matter how legally correct. The legally correct title for the state to the south of New Hampshire is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, but the Wikipedia article is simply and correctly Massachusetts. --Ken Gallager (talk) 15:31, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
