Dead citations

Most citations on this page link to the Gazeeteer of Maharashtra state. Most of these links were taken down from the website in the past year. I request everyone to find alternate citations, link to cached copies of the same citations, or (sigh...) petition the Maharashtra government to restore the Gazeeteer archives. Prophetic POV?

"Nagpur is a city with great capabilities to grow and prosper in the coming days."

While not intending to insult the city's business sector (I have not visited India), I question the use of a statement in Wikipedia which looks too much like POV. It sounds like an advertisement for investors. I would have only written this in an article if in the context of quoted statement with a citation. There have been throughout history and around the world cities that were hailed as having a prosperous future ahead only to economically collapse within a few years, making such claims woefully outdated.Cloptonson (talk) 19:41, 27 September 2014 (UTC)19:39, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Advertising-style Prose

The ambiance that prevails at Khernakala is so soothing and placid that it will beyond a shadow of a doubt captivate you in a state of trance. The luscious green surroundings which are simply spellbinding blend into the aura created by the healthy environment prevailing there, to give rise to an awesome combination.

The above sounds like words from a tourism advertisement for potential visitors and deserves some condensation to fit the context of a fact-based Wikipedia. Again, something I would only include if it was quoted text.Cloptonson (talk) 20:46, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

I have just sorted the Nagpur notable people section into alpha surname order. As there are so many of them it may be time to make them into a list?Coolabahapple (talk) 04:26, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Nagpur Public Attractions

On having a look at the above section, it appears quite unencyclopedic and is written like a tourist brochure, including words such as "has become the most loving place in the eyes of Nagpurians", "can even be attempted by people who do not take part in trekking on a regular basis", "world known for its beauitiful design and architect", " which is said to have existed for more than 275 years", "The charm of the..." amongst others. Also, most of the entries are unreferenced. The picture of a tank also does not apear that notable.

I propose a rewrite of the section, removing the peacock terms and placing the attractions in alphabetic order to allay allegations of undue prominence. If any editors can include appropriate references (from old or later travel guides, but not produced by the city or government tourist authorities?) and maybe a couple more pictures of the most notable attractions that would be appreciated.

I have just removed the following words from the Religion subsection of Population section :

The Catholic minority is past-orally served by its Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Nagpur with St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Nagpur.
