Broad gauge?[edit]

re Peter Horn. I have removed the description of "broad gauge", as internationally it is used for gauges broader than 4 ft 8+1⁄2 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge, not including. However, since South Africa originally had 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) Cape gauge, one could write here "broader than the traditional 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) Cape gauge" to explain this? -DePiep (talk) 06:15, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yes, "broader than the traditional 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) Cape gauge", or just simply "broader than" would be the ideal statement in all the info boxes in all articles about South African locomotives where "broad gauge" appears. By the way some railways in what is now South Africa started off as 4 ft 81⁄2 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge but subsequently changed to 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) Cape gauge.
