"Anne Frank connection"[edit]

As of 11 December 2018, this article contained a section called "Anne Frank connection," about how Nathan Straus's son (Nathan Jr.) got to know Otto Frank (father of Anne and later publisher of her famous diary) and worked unsuccessfully to help the family obtain visas to escape to the United States. I thought it was really interesting! I rewrote it a bit, though, because it did not actually explain who Anne Frank was except via linking to her article, and says nothing about why Otto is notable (as Anne's father/publisher/co-author). But this article isn't about the Franks -- or even about Nathan Straus Jr., who has his own article. And this section seems to have been copied into the Nathan Jr. article as well.

It seems to me that this connection belongs only at the Straus Jr. article, because he is the one who was actually involved in the events described. The Nathan Sr. → Nathan Jr. → Otto → Anne "connection" is just too attenuated to warrant mention in this article. Nathan Sr. died in 1931, two years before the Franks left Germany and about a decade before they tried to get American visas. Accordingly, I have moved my rewritten version over to the Nathan Jr. article and deleted the Anne Frank section from this article. --EightYearBreak (talk) 16:40, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
