Challenge is not just for people under 18. Age rule is "The competition is only open to persons aged 18 or under on 31 August 2007. " for 2006/2007 challenge. Rules to same effect were in previous challenges. The rule means that people aged 18 can participate. The challenge starts early october 2006 and the rule states that participates must be 18 or under on 31st August 2007. This means someone who is 18 on 1st september 2006 would still be able to participate.

4,452 people took part in the 2005/2006 challenge. Maybe 795 teams? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.178.230.137 (talk) .

I suppose that's right. I tried to find the total number of people who participated, but as it was in the reams of comments I gave up. Thanks for adding the links onto other pages - I'll change the article. Hut 8.5 15:53, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've left the figure of 795 teams there because i've a feeling that 4,452 is the number of people who registered - a lot of them never actually broke any of the cryptograms. Hut 8.5 16:04, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
