Page must be updated to reflect 2014 captains. D'Qwell Jackson is still listed as the Browns defensive captain despite the fact that he is currently playing for the Indianapolis Colts.

What will the patches look like for 5th year captains?[edit]

Just curious. If/when the season starts, what will the patches look like for players like the Mannings, Drew Brees, etc. who will be in their 5th year of being a captain for one team? Do they add extra stars? Do they change the color? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.183.33.85 (talk) 17:42, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You'd probably know by now, but the C turns yellow in their 5th year, and stays like that until they aren't captains anymore. Zappa (talk) 00:18, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Aaron Rodgers was wearing a gold c in the wildcard 2013 playoff game. This is a change from 2012. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.48.185.172 (talk) 23:55, 5 January 2014 (UTC) reference - http://blog.packers.com/2013/01/04/packers-elect-six-playoff-captains/[reply]

Sourcing[edit]

Half this article is nothing but unnecessary trivia (how is a player going up against a team they used to play for previously relevant in any way to the article's scope? how is what color a badge for a single team happened to be on one of their throwback uniforms 5+ years ago encyclopedic?) But all of this should be cited at the very least. There is no reason to remove tags that would make other editors aware of such issues and possibly inspire them to find citations themselves. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:22, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your definition of "unnecessary trivia" is entirely subjective. I'm sorry you don't find it interesting, but there is no need to rain on others parades who do find them interesting. It's practical to include this too. You'll notice that years ago, someone asked about what would happen for the fifth year that a player is a captain. This is someone for whom the remark about the accidental fifth star would be relevant. Plus, that IS cited but you think that the internet's foremost expert on uniforms isn't a good source simply because he wrote it on his blog.

Are you also going to put "citation needed" on every team's entry for the number of stars they have? Since you won't accept images from Getty, Shutterstock, etc. as valid sources that show the stars, what even would you accept? If you have a suggestion of how the dozens of people on here should be properly citing things, now's the time to let us know. Clarkdonglefritz (talk) 19:31, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
