Birth date confusion[edit]

The text gives 1938 and 1958; which is correct? --FeanorStar7 (talk) 01:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC) 1938 is correct. I am correcting the text.Protothyas (talk) 06:33, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions[edit]

I've just copyedited/rewritten this, and I'd like to draw attention to a few points that someone who understands the sources should check:

  • I changed "on a book" to "in a book" since usually such things are written on one of the first pages; if it was indeed written on the book, please change to "on the cover of a book".
  • I changed the phrase about his acceptance of the state medal to a modified quotation; did he actually say something that translates to "on behalf of my ancestry"? If this is not accurate, please change it again.
  • I changed "ten thousands" to "ten thousand". Was it about 10,000 people at the funeral, as I'm guessing, or was it more than 20,000? If the latter, it should be "tens of thousands of other people". Also, following what was there in the article, I've stated that those people were at the funeral; but they can't all have been in the mosque, so is it perhaps meant that 10,000, or tens of thousands, watched it on television or listened to radio coverage? If the latter, that needs to be changed.
  • Was he buried in a separate grave at the foot of his father's grave, or in the same grave? If it was the same grave, "at his father's feet" is appropriate wording.
  • I've assumed "his last will" meant Last will and testament and linked to Will (law), where that redirects. But if it means "last words" rather than a written will, that needs to be changed.

Also, what year did he receive the state medal?

I've made the spelling and usage consistently British (or aimed for that); it varied. If the article was intended to use a different English variant, some spellings and one use of which where there is no comma should probably be changed. --Yngvadottir (talk) 14:03, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
