Not a grand vizier[edit]

Nef'i died in 1635. It reads "he was executed in 1635 at the request of Grand Vizier Bayram Pasha." Well this statement is partially incorrect. Bayram Pasha was not a grand vizier in 1635. The grand vizier was Tabanıyassı Mehmet Pasha. I'll try to call the editor. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 10:43, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is not impossible that Stanford J. Shaw made a mistake in his book page 285. I agree that in 1635 Tabanı Yassı Mehmet Pasha was Grand Vizier, and that Bayram Pasha did not assume that office until 1637, in 1635 Bayram Pasha was kaymakam of Istanbul. So the question is where does the error lie — was Nef'i executed at the request of the kaymakam Bayram Pasha or at the request of the Grand Vizier Tabanı Yassı Mehmet Pasha.? --Bejnar (talk) 16:43, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All sources I've seen so far accuse Bayram Pasha. I think the name is OK and the error lies in the title. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 18:24, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
