It should be clarified here what is meant by 'Western Law'. This concept is vague and probably misleading. The concept is used in most Civil Law systems (e.g. §§677ff. BGB), and I presume also in Common Law, though I do not know that for a fact. Furthermore, the phrase "benevolent intervention in another's affairs" should be added, as this is how negotiorum gestio is frequently translated.
