Neutral sixth in 12-ET[edit]

φ neutral sixth[edit]

There's also the φ neutral sixth, where the ratio of frequencies is the golden ratio, making the interval about 833.09 cents. This is of interest because it's arguably the most dissonant interval (theoretically, at least). I'm not going to add it to the article at the moment, as I haven't got a decent reference. A scale based on this interval is briefly mentioned at Bohlen–Pierce scale#Other unusual tunings or scales. --Zundark (talk) 12:00, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
