Change of Intersection Template[edit]

This article was changed to bring its intersection template to the NYint format. No other changes were made. It is important to verify, update and/or correct as necessary. Fwgoebel 18:41, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite tag and attention rationale[edit]

I tagged this article for several reasons:

  1. The route description is a mess. There are paragraphs that are too short, there are paragraphs that are too long, and there's a bulleted list in the first subsection that has nothing to do with the route's description. On that note, the description is a strange mish-mash of a description of the route and the history of the route and other things along it - and the latter shouldn't be here. The second paragraph of the North of I-84 section is a pretty good example of this.
  2. The history is poorly written, incomplete, and bounces around chronologically. Also, the references are very substandard and in some cases incomplete. Examples:
    • "Article by Judy Rife in the Middletown (NY) Times Herald Record Tuesday, September 22, 2009, page 28." - lacks a title, thus it fails WP:V
    • "Old Town property maps on file in the Town of Newburgh Town Hall." - fails WP:V. If the individual maps were cited using {{cite map}}, this would be acceptable.
    • "Official list of road names in Town of Newburgh for use by 911 Emergency Officials, Town Clerk's Office, Newburgh, New York" - this likely fails WP:V as well, but if not there's surely a better reference out there to replace this.
    • In fact, every reference but the first two has at least one issue. – TMF 23:46, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
