Extreme bias[edit]

The league of rights did not adhere to "an ideology of Social Credit, anti-semitism, and was white supremacist." None of these were league policies. It was a fringe and rather eccentric patriotic-religious group. White supremacism in particular (a singularly American concept) was not present in the group, and was certainly not league policy. Rather than being anti-Semitic, it was more British-Israelite - which is pro-Jew, rather than anti.101.98.155.186 (talk) 02:46, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we can or should excise the claims of antisemitism, white supremacism, and racism entirely from the article, given how frequently they appear. However, I do think that if Wikipedia is going to adhere to WP:NPOV on political groups, our statements need to be either in the form "X has been described as Y by Z" or in the form "X describes itself as Y", rather than simply "X is Y". I've edited the page accordingly, removing some of the broader categories, and also removed the line which says the organisation "sought to uphold the predominance of British race and culture in New Zealand and was opposed to Marxism, human rights and internationalism". I don't doubt that the league was anti-Marxist and anti-internationalist, but "opposed to human rights" needs clarification, "British race and culture" sounds like pure WP:OR – why would a New Zealand nationalist group describe itself as upholding "British culture"? The article needs better sourcing as a whole, anyway – feel free to edit and add sources as you see fit, these articles aren't protected. IgnorantArmies (talk) 03:51, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
