Continental Airlines/Newark[edit]

I'm sure the airport are in discussions with a variety of airlines concerning a number of destinations, as all airports are, but (without any firm evidence or reports) Wikipedia is not the place for speculations about potential new routes. johnwalton (talk) 15:37, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The same applies to Emirates, until there is an official announcement about a route, or it appears in flight booking engines, then it should not be listed on Wikipedia. johnwalton (talk) 11:24, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, as much as I would like to see some decent long haul routes out of Newcastle, we can't list them here in the hope that they will start. --Fozi999 11:54, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If they made a flight to New York or Boston It will be popular Hello1567 (talk) 08:40, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes - a direct flight to New York must be a popular choice and I would think a popular destination81.159.74.229 (talk) 17:47, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

This article should be moved to "Newcastle International Airport". As per the airport's official website, this is the proper name for the airport. MrShamrock (talk) 20:47, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done - WP:OFFICIAL. JPG-GR (talk) 02:25, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation[edit]

Why is the disambiguation page not the default? There are 4 "Newcastle" airports, and this one is just one of them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:470:25:478:616A:A8D6:31BC:BAA (talk) 13:17, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Jet2.com Destinations[edit]

Why does New York keep becoming removed from their destinations list on the airports wiki page? Yes, they only do it a few times a year, but it is still a destinations. So please leave it there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.184.198.52 (talk) 17:56, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As explained by several editors, these flights are ad-hoc irregular charters and are not to be listed per WP:AIRPORT-CONTENT. 107.77.232.123 (talk) 08:09, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

– Per the Ordnance Survey this is the correct name, also its website, Google Maps and World Travel Guide use "Newcastle International Airport". It therefore seems that "International" is an integral part of the name. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:56, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Also Newcastle Airport (New South Wales) which is called "Newcastle Airport" in its own right gets over 1 8th of the views[[1]]. There was some confusion at Talk:Aberdeen Airport#Requested move 23 August 2018, Talk:Luton Airport#Requested move 24 August 2018 and Talk:Newquay Airport#Requested move 5 September 2018 about the actual names due to different scale OS maps having different names or a name only being the name of the company. However the OS calls it "Newcastle International Airport" at all levels as does A-Z (which gets its mapping from the OS) Options are:

Orphaned references in Newcastle International Airport[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Newcastle International Airport's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Easy jet left Newcastle International airport because of covid but they have not returned with a base. Hello1567 (talk) 12:16, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Does Newcastle international airport need to expand?[edit]

The airport might need a runway expansion or more stands because sometimes in the summer it seems that they are low on spaces the terminal might need expanding soon as well. Car parking and other stuff might need upgrades as well Hello1567 (talk) 10:26, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
