rewrite please?[edit]

In Journey to the West, Nezha was a general under the leadership of his father Li Jing. He entered into combat against Sun Wukong when the later rebeled against the Jade Emperor, ruler of Heaven, but Nezha was beaten by Sun Wukong and had to retreat.

This sentence does not read right. Can someone rewrite it? Kowloonese 00:00, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Li Jing[edit]

Li Jing, the father of Nezha, is not the same person as the historical Li Jing described at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li_Jing . Therefore, it is not appropriate to have the hypertext link to that article from this one. In Chinese legend, as recorded in the Fengshen Yanyi, the father of Nezha was deified by Prime Minister Jiang Ziya. In Chinese iconography he is depicted with a pagoda balanced on the upturned palm of his hand.

Fair use rationale for Image:Nezha animated depiction.jpg[edit]

Image:Nezha animated depiction.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Modern Scholarship[edit]

Going to remove the Meir Shahar modern scholarship references. the professor is apparently loosely connecting nezha with the a hodge podge of deities from hindu pantheon when there is really nothing in common. passages seemed to be placed there as a form of self promotion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.6.122.9 (talk) 12:58, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If Ghost insists on keeping such a sweeping passage at least write it as shahar's theory and not as an "ultimate" fact. Is his theory about Nezha; Nalakubar or Krishna? loosely connecting them to nezha is bunk scholarship, besides nezha shares nothing in common with them besides the fact that he has 3 heads and 6 arms (like most asuras or rakshasas do, and that it was given to nezha by Tai yi zhen ren to boost his strength in battle against the forces of the shang kindgom, apparently not borned that way) or that he is venerated as a child god (like many other deities, how about the christ child?) Really, something like that is really unacceptable. 121.6.122.9 (talk) 13:32, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid you are going to have to provide evidence that Shahar's analysis is incorrect. Or, better yet, provide data from another scholar so that the section will be more comprehensive. --Ghostexorcist (talk) 00:20, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nezha portrayed by girls[edit]

In Chinese TV, Nezha is mostly portrayed by girls. Don't know the reason, but this would be an interesting fact to add after better research. --2.245.186.112 (talk) 21:11, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nezha (deity)NezhaWP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The deity averages 300+ views/day, while the given name & 2014 film both average ~3/day, even the dab page averages ~7/day. The 1979 film shouldn't be on the dab page as it is WP:PARTIALMATCH. Timmyshin (talk) 20:09, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
