Second resurrection of Christ[edit]

It was intended to be performed – or rather, revealed – once a year, during the day and the night, on the first and second resurrections of Christ ...

  • I've only heard of one resurrection of Christ. What's the reference to the 2nd one about?
  • Otherwise, kudos to Antandrus for a fascinating article on someone who little deserves oblivion. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 10:05, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks ... I still need this question answered though. It has something to do with a long Russian Orthodox service that has a "first resurrection" and a "second resurrection" (maybe one is during the day and the other during the night?). I took the wording from the source, not really knowing what it means. Maybe a question for the reference desk. Antandrus (talk) 14:32, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I may have just found something. While this isn't a citeable source (search for "second resurrection") it does mention a first and second resurrection as parts of a service 12 hours apart in the Orthodox service (but this page is Greek ... really need someone familiar with Russian Orthodox ritual).
