Quality remarks for the 2001 redesign

A large proportions of the 2001 Sentra were also still manufactured in Tennesee. The comments regarding the poor quality of goods manufactured in Latin American countries like Mexico were too opinionated. Thanks for understanding. Gerdbrendel 05:32, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Renault Alliance

What is the basis for your statement? Nissan is a separate company from Renault. Renault has a 44% stake in Nissan (see Nissan web site) -- meaning that the majority of Nissan is not owned by Renault. Nissan, like most car companies, belongs to its shareholders collectively. And what does this have to do with Sentra -- it would be more appropriate to make your statements in the Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. article.

I would say wow to the fact some people automatically write this car off as junk without even giving it a chance. Renault does not own Nissan, Nissan owns Renault. (SnakeEyesNinja (talk) 04:53, 1 April 2009 (UTC))

Pictures

This article could use some pictures of earlier Sentras, not just those from 2000+, if anyone has some. -Big Smooth 20:49, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

On a side note, in the sidebar, the picture for the Sentra SE-R Spec-V is a 2008 model, but the specs below state production years 2002–2006. The 2007/8+ Sentras look significantly different from the B15(2000-2006) Sentras Could we get the pic/production years to match up please? Araemo, --12.168.67.36 21:05, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Merge?

Should this be merged with Nissan_Sunny? It is a little confusing that this article starts off with the B13.

1995 Sentra As A Compact Car?

The wheelbase became 99.8 inches for the 1995-99 Sentra, and the 2000-06 Sentra wheelbase remained unchanged.

B12 Engines

GA14S in 1989 B12.

"...In 1988, all Sentras had the 70 hp E16(i)... From 1989 to 1990, the only engine choice was the 90 hp GA16i..." - there were more choices than that. I owned a 1989 B12 with a GA14S. I've seen B12s with E15 as well. RB30DE 23:29, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Sure it is not the RE4FO4A for the 2.5?

"The 2000-2006 2.0L and 1.8L automatic use the RE4F03B transmission. The 2.5L 2.5S, SE-R automatics use the RE4F03A transmission"

I believe it is the RE4FO4A for the QR25DE engine line. The RE4F03 line is A/B and V/W with A/V being TV cable transmissions and the B/W bring electronic. Also A/V is older than B/W so I would not think that Nissan would step backward. I believe that the proper transmission is the RE4F04 line.

B15 (2000-2006) transmission info incorrect?

Under the B15 lineup for the Sentra, it says that it only comes in 5-sp manual, 6-sp manual, or 4-sp automatic. Is this correct? Because my dad owns a 2004 Sentra 1.8 S and I've counted about 6 gears on an automatic. Am I wrong?

B11 (1982-1986) wasn't built in USA.

The article is incorrect about the renault scala

As you can see in the Renault Samsung SM3 article, the renault scala is a rebadged version of this vehicle (which is related to the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy) not of the Nissan Sentra as this articles states so. 2000 models

2000 models actually had both designs. Early 2000 models (produced until 12/99) were B14s (old design) and late 2000 models (produced 1/00 and beyond) were B15s (new design). 2012 (B17)

Added: 2012 models are already in production, and a B17 Sentra hasn't even been announced. So it can't be right. The article said the new Sentra was two years away, debuting in 2012-13 as most likely a '14 model. Nissan Langley/Pulsar/EXA in South Africa.

The Langley/Pulsar/EXA built in South Africa was not a B11 at all but an N12. It did share the platform and engines with the B11 but had a completely different body shape. The N12 Langley/Pulsar/EXA was replaced in South Africa by the B12 and called a Sentra. Confusingly this in turn was replaced by the N14 and was once again called a Sentra until replaced by the N15 which was known as an Almera. South Africa is a unique market for Nissan with a very high local content on some models. Because of their engineering and marketing autonomy it is necessary to tread very carefully when posting comments about Datsuns and Nissans manufactured in South Africa.

B11 early-80s Sentra = European Sunny of that era?

Hi,

Is the Sentra B11 related to the *European* "Datsun Sunny" and "Nissan Sunny" of the early-to-mid 80s?

I've opened a discussion at the Nissan Sunny talk page, so I'd be grateful if anyone who knows could reply there (so we can keep the discussion in one place.)

B13 note on exhaust

Under the third generation I noticed that the article states that since cars in the middle east do not have catalytic converters, the exhaust is toxic. It is implied that IF a car has a catalytic converter, the exhaust is not toxic. It is important for everyone to understand that any exhaust from a gasoline engine is deadly, with or without a catalytic converter.
