This bears all the hallmarks of original research, and is therefore unacceptable for inclusion on Wikipedia. Citing what seem to be unpublished documents - with no proof that they even exist - doesn't count. If no published source for this alleged incident can be produced, it should be deleted. These documents are fact. A simple check with the USAF and RAF, stating the incident, the officers names rank and serial numbers provided, and the dates and sources of the documents, which are held in USAF archives. Note my findings did not state the RAF Meteor had been fired upon by the USAF, someone else has added that, they should remove the heading. Witnesses on the ground do confirm that Smiths Sabre was armed, as the aircraft could not be approach due to exploding ammunition, I have no proof Smith fired at the Meteor.

Whatever you are claiming, it is obviously original research and consequently cannot be included on Wikipedia. I am therefore removing it until you can cite a reputable published and verifiable source for the information. Nick Cooper 00:52, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Are you blind, the stated documents clearly state names, paragraphs and documents sourced. Im not at all happy with your high handed attitude, you should read the wiki notes on new comers and how we are to be treated. I am not your boy, dont treat me like it.

I would suggest that you need to read Wikipedia:No original research very carefully. What you have posted bears all the hallmarks of original research, and all you have cited are self-evidently unpublished documents, neither of which are allowed on Wikipedia. If you can find a published account of this event, either in print or on a reputable website, you can use that as a basis for a precis here. Nick Cooper 14:47, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Formation dates[edit]
