Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. VarunFEB2003 08:12, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's pretty obvious what change he wants to make. But he provides no source. Str1977 (talk) 07:08, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It should be noted that this event was unique in the fact that it was the first time ever that a WWE pay per view opened with a WWE Championship match, which of course was likely a result of the show being scheduled the same night as a presidential debate which began shortly after the match concluded.

Also, it is not true that this was the first time a PPV opened with a WWE championship match. I have explained this over at Talk:WWE World Championship. Str1977 (talk) 08:57, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize! You are correct about No Mercy 2007 and Elimination Chamber 2012! If the announcers said so during the match i didn't even hear that but that would not surprise me when it comes to WWE announcers. As a side note to this show, for some reason, WWE (on their facebook page) notes that John Cena broke the record for most pay-per-view main events at No Mercy 2016 with 68. I don't recall ever hearing that an opening match is the "main event" of the show. There are matches that are promoted as "main event" matches but for them to call an opener a true "main event" is just wrong. Perhaps this strange fact can be mentioned in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.196.71.229 (talk) 14:30, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Should Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton be considered the real main event instead of the WWE title Triple Threat?[edit]

It is said in the article that the main event was the WWE World Championship Triple Threat, but it's a commonly opinion that whatever the way you promote a show's main event such as having more than one, the real main event always goes last/closes the show, which was Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton.

An example of this is Hell in a Cell 2016, as while the event was promoted to be having a "Triple Main Event" (them consisting of the three Hell in a Cell matches on the show: Roman Reigns vs Rusev, Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins and Sasha Banks vs Charlotte), Sasha Banks vs Charlotte was the final match on the card and is considered to be the "real" main event.

Another example was at WrestleMania 29, in which CM Punk told in his interview on the Art of Wrestling podcast that Vince attempted to convince him that his match with the Undertaker was the "real main event", to which Punk disagreed saying John Cena vs the Rock was the real main event because it went on last. So should Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton be considered the real main event instead of the WWE title Triple Threat?

I heavily disagree. We can't put in the main event colum some random matches just because was the last match. The ME usually takes place as the final match. However, we are Wikipedia, we don't decide the main event of No Mercy or Hell in a Cell. WWE said Hulk Hogan/Sid and Savage/Flair were the main event and we have sources. WWE siad Styles/Ambrose/Cena was the main event, not Orton vs Wyatt. Hell in a Cell had a triple main event. I don't see the problem, if WWE decides to have 7 main events in WrestleMania, it's his decision. We only reflect the facts. "We have to change the article" it's not an excuse. Also, every source (WWE.com and third party) say Styles/Cena/Ambrose was the main event of No Mercy. However, you're saying the Wyatt Orton is the main event without a source. Nickag989talk 16:31, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
