Keyboard picture?[edit]

There's a better keyboard picture at http://mexico.purplecow.org/pix/tn/e71_keyb800.jpg.html - could add this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.101.162.24 (talk) 09:15, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Great, except there's nothing detailing the copyright status of that picture, so it can't be added. Please see WP:IUP. Thanks! Chaldor (talk) 10:12, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd be happy to share with a CC licence, but since I've only just created an account and I can't upload the image. Pcowandre (talk) 09:53, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Image removed, URL not found, anuyone have a cached version?

Why cut the links to blogs?[edit]

Can you explain why you edited the links to blogs out? I don't understand - don't they help the product?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by RHG (talkcontribs) 05:03, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but that simply doesn't make sense. The section is titled "External Links." The blogs provide extensions and discussion about the E71, items that improve the use of the device. Frankly, you're being quite stupid about this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RHG (talkcontribs) 07:39, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am sorry that you disagree, however, you are not entitled to change wikipedia policy. Wiki articles are not a collection of links nor are they meant as a directory, blog set, forum board, etc. If you disagree with this, I suggest you take it to the wiki administration. This page is not your battleground. Thank you Chaldor (talk) 01:53, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese Version Software Differences[edit]

I just bought a new Chinese E71 today, and it appears to come with slightly different software packages in the phone. I hesitate to list them on the main page, because it appears that some of the apps are in my sim card. I haven't read the manual yet, because it is all in Chinese, and I can only read a tiny bit of Chinese (not enough to make sense out of anything). After I figure out what came with the phone, and not on my sim card, I will update the main page, if there is anything new. -Dave in China 59.40.11.23 (talk) 04:58, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese Version Hardware Differences[edit]

I just learned that the Chinese version of the E71 (RM-493) has no wifi, 3G or front mounted camera, but it still sells for the same high price. I will take it back to the store, and get a Hong Kong version, which does come with these features. I really, really wished someone has listed those differences on the main page, so I didn't waste my time and energy getting a version of the phone I didn't want -Dave in China 219.134.137.28 (talk) 05:06, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Finland Project[edit]

The link to the Finland Project is a bit tenuous, this is a mobile phone made by a company who's headquarters happen to be in Finland. If anything, it should be classed as part of a series on technology or communication. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.2.125.228 (talk) 17:59, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree, i mean, this device is not very symbolistic of finland, nor has it have any finnish-spicific links. the Nokia company might be, but not every device under the sun! iorry to have ro rantGaryTalk to me 20:51, 8 May 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Antalope (talkcontribs)

Pairing a Bluetooth Device[edit]

Given I found this information no where else on the web I thought I'd add it here.

To pair a device with the E71 you have to go Home -> Connectivity -> Bluetooth, then press right on the scroll button to access the "paired devices" menu.

Unfortunately most people will likely go Home -> Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Bluetooth and that menu looks identical to the one accessed via the Connectivity menu however you cannot scroll right to access the "paired devices" from there.

Please leave this note up for a while so that others might be able to pair a bluetooth wireless headset to their E71. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.138.131 (talk) 05:38, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Screenshots of FP1 on E71[edit]

Before I got my E71 I heard that the FP1 icons were supposedly very ugly. But there wasn't enough information on how ugly things were! So uploaded a few here. Hopefully it's of help to future curious folks. riversandlakes (talk) 08:15, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image named "Under the sun"[edit]

I'm sorry, but the third image captioned "Under the sun" of the gallery isn't one of a genuine Nokia E71. It is apparent when looking at the wider bezel around the screen (especially around the sides) and the slightly thicker chromed "square ring" of the directional pad. Also, it's missing the microSD slot as well as the miniUSB port that should be visible on the left side of the device. And maybe the thumb also intentionally hides (different?) markings that would reveal this isn't a genuine handset.

  • You are correct, also note that the texture of the speaker is different(stripes instead of fine mesh), that the microphone is on the right side instead of the left side and that the light sensor on the left side of the speaker is missing. I think theres enough proof, so im gonna go ahead and remove the picture from the gallery.Powerload (talk) 10:50, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
