Olympics[edit]

Was wondering why we had an Under-23 squad. I've only briefly checked out why but found out that in the Olympics, youre only allowed to field a maximum of three players over 23 years old. The rest have to be under 23. Does that mean Northern Ireland have fielded a team at the Olympics? 80.189.225.85 (talk) 09:49, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Northern Ireland are not entitled to enter the Olympics as an independent country as the UK competes in Olympic competitions. The modern Under-23 squad is merely an Irish League select with an age limit. (Nifg 12:58, 4 May 2009 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nifg (talkcontribs)
