Comment[edit]

Hello all the dare to enter the lair of Northwestern! Just Kidding! Your help in expanding this article is appricated. Maybe one day it will be a featured artical. Old TI-89 01:31, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

I've re added the trivia section, as I've seen many articles with trivia sections too. If someone has a strong argument against it please list it here before re adding. Hopefully we can reach a consensus. Old TI-89 15:29, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

Trivia sections are acceptable but they need to be encyclopedic in nature, meaning something that you would find in a print summary of the school district. Your point about vandalism coming from that IP is important for wikipedia editors to know, but it doesn't belong on the primary page. I will list it here (and there are other user pages where it may be appropriate):

Sounds alright to me. I removed it from the main page. Old TI-89 15:35, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

Northwestern Lehigh High School's IP address is, "209.18.49.14." It is the source of a fair amout of Wikipedia vandalism. [1]

Coming Along Nicley[edit]

This artical is really starting to take shape. Impressive for about one day! THanks to all the contributers. By the end of next week, I should have taken some pictures, so we can add them. Old TI-89 15:45, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Critisems[edit]

Sorry about the lack of citations for the critisems. It's just hard to find sources for them. A few I have sourced, just bear with me as I find more sources. Thanks. 65.78.87.120 15:56, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you wish to list criticisms, they need to be sourced. Additionally, some of these, even if you did have a source, seem petty and unencyclopedic. PAWiki 17:25, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hope this clears up the criticism issue[edit]

I have added the "verify" tag to the criticism section, as I am still in the process of finding more sources. If this doesn't work for you, please disscuss here BEFORE you revert the article again. Your anticipated cooperation is appricated. Old TI-89 (u|t|c) 23:46, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, you need to source the material before even consider listing them, and then we need to decide on them being encyclopedic. I would not agree that any of these are encyclopedic or properly sourced. Their presence in the article is potentially libelous and certainly not encyclopedic in nature. And my interest in this article is only that of a member of the Pennsylvania topic editing team. I have zero interest in defending this school district, and I'd be the first to support including properly sourced and encyclopedic criticisms. None of these are anywhere close to meeting that criteria. They all represent your commentary alone, or reference the comment of one or two people in a school district of thousands. PAWiki 23:53, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
PAWiki you fail to see the point. In order to have a NPOV in the artical, bolth sides of the "issue" NEED to be shown. The artical makes no claim of preference in these critisems, It soley states that they are the view points of some, not all, students and citizens in the school district. I have no opinion on this school district either, but I respect WP:NPOV, and I need to make sure this artical is NPOV, therefore I am forced to show all sides of the story. Old TI-89 (u|t|c) 00:00, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, I do see the point. You can't even spell the word the word "article", much less grasp unsubstantiated and potentially libelous statements. The statements should be moved here until/unless their encyclopedic and verifiability is established, and, even if substantiated, they seem very petty and unnotable. Finally, please place comments on the article page itself, as opposed to this page or my user page so the discussion can remain in one place. PAWiki 00:13, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
First off I have nothing against you, and I see where you are coming from, PAWiki. In response to the question of libel, nothing is considered libel unless it is NOT true, no matter how bad it is. Second, all of these critisems are true, no matter how petty they may seem. I have added the "verify" tag, as I seek more sources. You will notice that at this point in the articals development, many positive points made about the artical are not YET properly sourced. I hope we can continue to work together to make the artical better. Old TI-89 (u|t|c) 00:13, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
P.S., any user can add warnings, I've eddited Wikipedia for much longer then three days, inder an IP, and continued personal attacks will cause you to be blocked. Old TI-89 (u|t|c) 00:18, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Goals for this artical.[edit]

1.) Present bolth sides of this school's "issues" insted of just the school's side (as most wiki school articals are like)

2.) Get good color pics. (should have them by friday)

3. Surpass www.nwlehighsd.org on google when searching "Northwestern Lehigh School District"

I think they're all in reach. Old TI-89 (u|t|c) 16:05, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed biased-POV an invalid sourcing[edit]

I removed the following from the Middle School section: "While the middle school is arcthectually superior to the high school, it acidemics are considered to be lacking. A common complaint is the absence of foreign language programs. [2]"

In addition to the misspellings ( "arcthectually," "acidemics" ), calling something "architecturally superior" is not NPOV. The "source" sited for the lack of foreign language programs is a small-sample internet polling site. Additionally, the results of that site aren't conclusive.

criticism section removed[edit]

I removed the following criticisms from the article.

Various criticisms have been voiced by district residents and students, including:
  • Lack of open bathrooms. Only 2 boys' and 2 girls' bathrooms are open in the rather large high school.{{fact}}
  • Athletic priority takes forefront vs. academic priories.{{fact}}
  • Constant pressuring by administration to have students choose to attend nearby Lehigh Career and Technical Institute

[3]{{fact}}

  • District wide internet firewall censors students' access to free information.{{fact}}

These statements should be sourced; Wikipedia should not be a place for students to forward their issues to the administrators of the school. If published sources of these or other criticisms can be found, then we should discuss the encyclopedic value and potentially re-add them. Until then, however, it seems to be orginal research. --TeaDrinker 20:07, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speling Classe[edit]

Apparently Northwestern Lehigh School District doesn't offer any courses in Spelling. I would hope that the author[s] most involved on this page would ply their trade with a bit more precision. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.20.251.27 (talk) 16:41, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
