Pakistanis in Norway?

It is certainly not my impression that this group labels itself as Pakistanis foremost and Norwegians secondarily. I suggest that if the recent name change shall not be reverted it should be changed to Norwegians with Pakistani background. __meco (talk) 11:02, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

It's misleading as a Norwegian with Paksitani background only refers to Pakistanis with Norwegian citizenship. On Wikipedia, a Norwegian is even described as stricly a person of ethic Norwegian origin. There are few ethnic groups in Europe that are referrerd to in the same way. Alphasinus has been doing quite a bit of strange edits here that most likely originate in an extreme right-wing political background. I have reverted these changes for this site, but he seems to be doing the same to several other pages that describe ethnic minorities. Formally I have attached some proof of where he is wrong/misleading in this case. I don't have the time/energy to do so for all other pages he is vandalizing, but with all likelihood the same applies there.

In other words, he is not quoting correctly. The link he removed had numbers from 2008:

"29.9 percent of Norwegian-born men of Pakistani parents aged 19 -24 years went to college in 2008, compared with 23.4 per cent of the total male population, a difference of 6.5 percentage points. 39.4 per cent of Norwegian-born women of Pakistani parents aged 19 -24 years went to college in 2008, compared with 36.4 per cent of the total female population, a difference of 3, 0 percentage points. " (my translation)

The claim that Norwegian-Pakistanis have a lower enrolment rate in Higher Education is factually wrong. The Norwegian Bureau of Statistics (Statistics Norway) has an excellent article on the topic ([1]), which clearly shows that the enrolment rate is significantly higher for Norwegians of Pakistani descent than the general population in the same age group. I revertede edits by Alphasinus that seem to violate NOR. I note that Mustihussein has reverted three times. If he reverts one more time he will have violated 3RR, so I hope he does not. Alphasinus has already violated 3RR and should now take note that a further revert will be a violation of our rules and subject to blocking. Slrubenstein | Talk 19:00, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

I've never met User:Slrubenstein nor had any other contact or communication with him hitherto. He may be an interesting person for me to get into contact with though, thanks for pointing that out Alphasinus. also, it is widely inaccurate that the PDS is responsible for the building of the wall. First of all the PDS merged with another group several years ago and together they now form the party "Die Linke". Secondly the party in charge in East Germany was the Socialist Unity Party (SED). It is true that the PDS had it's origins in the SED, but that something like 90% of the members left (including all leading figures) and that the program of the party was completely rewritten. But as mentioned, also the PDS ceased to exist several years ago. Besides that, I don't think Wikipedia has any policies that prevent revolutionaries or socialists from participating in the editing process. I aunderstand Alphasinus has been blocked now. I wonder if anyone is going to go through the numerous other changes he's made on other pages concerning ethnic minorities and fix them. Also, I wonder if it is true as he seems to claim that Wikipedia considers Norwegians a race, while people from other European countries don't have that status. I've looked at the pages of Germans, Danes and Norwegians and there seems to be a lot of highly controversial statements there that do not seem very accurate to me. In all cases it seems to be claimed that a person belonging to that specific group has some kind of genetic relation to the other members of that group. That is highly inaccurate. There are laws in each of these countries on how to become a citizen and once you are, you are officially a Dane/German/Norwegian. None of these include genetic tests to show that one descends from some tribe or other. Also those with many generations of family living in any of these countries can not prove that they are genetically significantly different from people living in any neighboring countries. I don't spend much time on Wikipedia and imagine that this has either been discussed many times over before you arrived at these very strange views, or there has been some kind of radical right-wing take-over of all these pages, of which Alphasinus was a part. I understand that User:Slrubenstein is an expert when it comes to race related issues on Wikipedia and I hope that this can be resolved. Otherwise it really makes Wikipedia seem rather ridiculous. Given that especially in the US there are people who indeed see these groups as somehow genetic groups (Ever had some fat US American tourist walk up to you and say "hey, I'm also 3/16 [fill_in_the_blank], so we're probably related" just because you happen to be a citizen of that country?), it should probably be specified that certain people at times use the categories as if they were genetic, but that it has nothign to do with reality. http://www.johanneswilm.org -- Johannes Wilm 05:40, 6 February 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johanneswilm (talk • contribs)

Alphasinus explains his ultimate trial to revert this article with a supposed commonality with three articles entitled Pakistanis_in_Britain, Indians_in_Britain and Bangladeshis_in_Britain. Unfortunately none of these exist. The first two are forwards to British_Pakistanis and British_Indian respectively, and the last one is a dead link. It is also not clear what Alphasinus is trying to say with his claim or why it should legitimize his edits that have been attacked several times in the discussion above. He has not responded to any of this so far.
