Christian Democrats[edit]

A clause about the Christian Democrats was removed by a user saying that the KD are "not a religious party". This fails WP:V WP:POV because it is the user's opinion. The citation attributes the view that KD is a religiously-based party to a political scientist. The inclusion of this material is relevant to the page about the Nuance Party because the academic says that there is little religious focus in Swedish politics compared to other countries, explicitly using the example of its Christian Democrats being smaller than such parties in other countries. This ties in to the very title of the source, which relates to how the Nuance Party is unusual in having religious themes. While nobody is suggesting that KD is going to make a theocracy, their own website says "Vår idétradition kallas för kristdemokrati eftersom den bygger på kristna värderingar om allas lika värde, människans ofullkomlighet och att det finns rätt och fel. Men du får tro på vad du vill." [1]. It is disruptive to remove attributed views from academics solely because the editor disagrees with them. ISIS Returnees[edit]

I removed a clause referring to the party leader as supporting Swedish returnees from ISIS, because the linked article includes a denial of this claim from the party leader (who says he was only interested in protecting their human rights)--you wouldn't accuse the ACLU of supporting fascists just because of Skokie (as they defended the case on free speech grounds). The claim can be added back if edited to NPOV (e.g. "attracting controversy" for comments on this issue).

However, if I'm missing some kind of Swedish nuance (pun fully intended), I'd be happy to hear it. Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 22:28, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fine by me, as creator of article (but not adder of that clause, see history). The page is about the party and not the nuances (ha! ha!) of the founder's beliefs. The more general accusation of Grey Wolf sympathy is widely circulated and the rebuttal is included in the text. Unknown Temptation (talk) 11:47, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Internal conflicts (google translate from Swedish)[edit]

The Swedish WP has a section about the internal conflicts. Im copying part of this section. Which might help a bit:

"In the fall of 2022, new internal conflicts broke out in the party. The internal opposition and Yüksel have also accused each other of spreading false rumours. The conflicts culminated in an extraordinary congress in December 2022, when Mikail Yüksel was challenged for the party leadership post by Sead Busuladzic. Yüksel was re-elected by the extraordinary congress as party leader. After the congress, Hamza Akacha and Sead Busuladzic left the party, which meant that two out of three councilors elected for Nyans no longer represented the party. Busuladzic stated in connection with the defection that he was considering starting a new party. In December 2022, co-founder Hassan Khan chose to sue Yüksel through a defamation suit for violating the party's own statutes by allowing the election committee to consist of only one person."

The internal conflicts have resultet in a split. There are now seemingly two separate political parties. It is unclear which of them is bigger. Mats33 (talk) 20:50, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
