Untitled[edit]

The illustration is from a postcard showing the Nueces Hotel. The postcard probably does date from the 1940s but the actual picture would represent the hotel from around 1930 or before. The seawall was built in the 1930s/1940s and the water would not have been that close afterwards. The situation depicted shows why the downtown area was filled with water during storms.
