For those who might confuse this article with an existing one[edit]

Mutualism and obligate mutualism are not exactly the same thing.
Mutualism is a type of broader biological interaction between two species where both species benefit from the relationship. It is a form of symbiosis.

Obligate mutualism, on the other hand, is a special case of mutualism where the two species entirely depend on each other for survival. Neither species can survive and reproduce on its own without the other species. The relationship is obligatory for both partners.

This could have been mentioned as a separate section in Mutualism's page but since someone thoroughly created a draft for it, and I've made some adjustments, but nonetheless it reads and is cited well, I think it merits having its own article. X (talk) 04:14, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
