Huh?[edit]

So many problems with this article. Was it built in 1814 or 1856? Was it really built for protection from Native Americans (hard to believe if you've actually seen the house)? Did the children of Edwin Brown die in the house that their ghosts are supposedly haunting it? Second paragraph seems more like an advertisement for the owner's business and haunted house tours. "Action Advertiser" isn't exactly the most reputable news source. 63.87.189.17 (talk) 16:03, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not associated with the house in any way. Your questions are not answered in the source article. I think it's reliable enough even if it's no New York Times. Royalbroil 00:02, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like the article has been cleaned up quite a bit. However, I'd like to point out that the "Action Advertiser" is an advertisement-paid paper connected with the Fond du Lac Reporter. Some of their articles do come from journalists at the Reporter, and it's parent company Gannett. In addition, however, the Action often publishes articles submitted by third parties with minimal editing and no fact-checking, without marking them as advertisements. Hence my statement that they are not a reputable news source. 71.13.147.17 (talk) 04:23, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That newspaper article was well over 2 years ago and I don't have it anymore to inspect or check for author credit. It's not available from the Internet Archive. I remember that it did appear to be professionally written by a staff writer. The rest of the paper was advertisement as usual but this section didn't appear to be. Too much information?[edit]

Is the majority of the second paragraph really unnecessary? It seems like all of it could be paraphrased into: the current owners have experienced paranormal events, which were backed by a paranormal research team. In my opinion, it seems like too much info, going into detail about the people who live there, and what they do, and other unnecessary information. Does anyone else agree? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.151.84.63 (talk) 22:50, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree about the level of detail. I provided sources for the material. I especially disagree about saying that the current residents have experienced paranormal events because I'm not convinced. Royalbroil 00:29, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
