I am stripping out the lyrics in favor of a link to the lyrics on the Arkansas Secretary of State's website, both for copyright reasons and for consistency with Arkansas' other three state songs. "Arkansas (You Run Deep In Me)" doesn't have an article yet (perhaps because Wikipedians keep confusing it with the older song "Arkansas", now the state anthem), so I put the lyrics link in the article of its writer Wayland Holyfield instead; I also added links to the existing articles on "Arkansas" and "The Arkansas Traveler" (state historical song). 70.232.94.206 22:55, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I instead went ahead and registered for Wikipedia in order to write the "Arkansas (You Run Deep In Me)" article; now I'm coming back to clean up this one. --RBBrittain 23:15, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One last point about the copyright on this song that I mentioned in rewriting the article on the state anthem "Arkansas" is that the state officially owns the copyright to this song. In fact, the 1987 law designating both this song and "Arkansas (You Run Deep In Me)" did so only on the condition that the songs' authors assign their copyrights to the state; that fact is noted in the print version of Arkansas Code 1-4-116 along with a note that the condition was met, but isn't noted in the web version of the Code. --RBBrittain 23:44, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
