The show is usually performed in pierrot costumes[edit]

The previous editor is joking, right? Surely, this should be period, as with the play. -LlywelynII (talk) 09:49, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, it really was! ... complete with pom-pom buttons ... The film is in period costume, but the original stage show was pierrot - "war is for clowns" (Littlewood}; and here is an image from a production. Believe it yet? Kbthompson (talk) 11:01, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed it was: I innocently caused the ruction in the filming, answering Dickie Attenborough's call for original uniforms by finding the real thing in 1968. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.217.57.173 (talk) 23:07, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I challenge the assertion that Joan Littlewood wouldn't have military uniforms on stage. I saw the original production, both at Stratford E and after transfer to Wyndham's, and I distinctly remember Brian Murphy and Glyn Edwards in officer gear. I can't cite any source for that so I won't edit the article. Stu (talk) 19:46, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Title Oh, What a Lovely War! or Oh What a Lovely War?[edit]

I know this is fiddling, but I believe the title should be Oh What a Lovely War: no comma after "Oh" and no exclamation mark. I've got the Methuen edition and that's how it appears in it. Ditto in the biography by Holdsworth and Littelwood's autobiography, at least the editions I've looked at.METRANGOLO1 (talk) 11:20, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
