CCHT external link[edit]

This link was added to the article after discussion on the WP Reliable Sources Noticeboard. See: WP:RSN exercise. No information from the CCHT link has been put into the body of the article in the form of citations because it has not yet been verified for 100% accuracy by the Victoria County History project for Cumbria. (This will take some years to do). Laplacemat (talk) 10:50, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reference in Imperial Gazeteer[edit]

Sorry, I don't know how to do book references. I corrected the hyphenation in the quote by looking at the original: it's Volume 3 ("III") page 971. I slightly hesitate to remove the web link, because they are so much easier to follow, but if the link includes a misspelling, it might be better removed. And anyone can find the Imp. Gaz. online, wherever it may be. Imaginatorium (talk) 10:20, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've annotated the visible text and made a comment for editors; I think web links are useful, but if you can find the Imp. Gaz. online elsewhere and link to the correct text, then please do! Thanks. PamD 13:12, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have a hard copy -- I was looking at the archive.org version. I hope the link is OK now. Imaginatorium (talk) 15:09, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's great, thanks - and looking at it I can see how they made the mistake, as the hyphen looks like a line-break hyphen rather than an intentional one! PamD 16:48, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Imaginatorium: I've now added a note about the online availability, and links (sadly only 5 of the 6 vols as far as I can see) to Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales. PamD 17:16, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
