Section headings[edit]

I added a history heading that somebody deleted. OK...perhaps history isn't the best fit for the content, but there does need to be some section headings, because it makes no sense for there to be a TOC way down just before the Awards section. Any ideas about how this article can be better divided? - Cafemusique 20:42, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Speculation on actors[edit]

Actors who have participated in taping but not aired aren't current cast members. They will be when they get aired. What if someone important in the plot dies? How can one be sure the previously taped episodes won't be revised or re-recorded? The same priniciple applies for actors that are leaving. Perhaps something could happen that would postpone the leaving of the character for another month. S/he would still exist, but not be shown. Encyclopedias contain facts, not speculation. --jag123 08:35, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Sammy David Jr[edit]

I removed Sammy David Jr. from the Emmy winners list since according to soapcentral.com and wikipedia that category was one by a guy from Days of our Lives ( it is incorrectly listed on imdb.com) User:Dowew March 27th 2005

While this is old - Sammy Davis, Jr. did win a Daytime Emmy for his Guest Star Stint on OLTL. 04:56, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Farley Granger[edit]

I have removed Farley Granger from the Daytime Emmy winners list because according to Soap Central The Daytime Emmys did not yet have a supporting actor category in 1977 and he was nominated as "Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series" loosing to Val dufour. See this page for more info. If anyone can come up with alternate data let me know. For now I am also removing him from the Category:Daytime Emmy Award winners User:Dowew May 29th 2005.

Split?[edit]

The page is becoming a little long. Should I put the awards section on a new page, or move the history onto a new page? --JamesB3 6 July 2005 03:27 (UTC)

Contract Status?[edit]

Does anyone know Paul Satterfield's status for certain? ABC does not list him with the contract players, but they don't list him with the recurring players either. D'Amico 19:51, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes PS is on contract. He is featured in the opening montage. Recurring actors aren't. DtownG 12:30, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Patricia Elliot[edit]

Patricia Elliot is no longer on contract. She's been on recurring status for the past two years. DtownG 14:56, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

POV[edit]

This passage in particular has a very bad problem with POV. Say what you will about Paul Rauch, but keep feelings out of this and don't attack the poor man. This is an encyclopedia, not a fancyclopedia. Please help with me to reword this entire section:

OLTL became a larger-than-life campfest in the late 80's, with executive producer Paul Rauch ignoring past diversity (Carla and her mother were dumped from the show, as Ellen Holly recounted in her autobiography) in favor of time travel (Clint went back to the Old West), a trip underground (half the cast went to Eterna), and a slew of exploits by vixens such as Tina (Andrea Evans, Karen Witter, Krista Tesreau) and Gabrielle (Fiona Hutchison). The two even had a poor imitation of the Karen/Jenny baby switch storyline. Other fan favorites were bad boy Max Holden (James DePaiva) and soap actress Megan (Jessica Tuck), who was revealed to be the long-lost daughter of Viki. Rauch's peak of ratings success came in 1987 when Viki "died" and saw many of her deceased friends, relatives and foes in Heaven (a floating spaceship); the show went to #1 for that week. Rauch had notorious rivalries with a number of talented actresses; many viewers felt he ran Robin Strasser off the show and eliminated formerly important families like the Woleks. In 1991, faced with falling ratings and poor quality, ABC fired him.. Mike H. That's hot 23:15, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someone needs to add this recent plot stuff to the plot-history. Yep. I am too lazy to be doing so... Feb 18, 2006

Wortham Krimmer as Rev. Andrew Carpenter[edit]

About.com [1] has stated that Wortham Krimmer will return in May. They continue to say that his return: "Will it be for a wedding or a funeral -- or both?" --Yllianos 17:51, April 17 2006 (UTC)

Senior Cast Members[edit]

I was under the impression that to be a "senior cast member" according to Wikipedia, you had to be around since the show's inception. Since the only one coming close is Erica Slezak, should she alone be the senior cast member? Just a question. John D'Adamo 18:41, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know that there is a written policy on this, but I would think that because most shows have been around for so long, the original cast members are lucky to be alive, let alone still on the show! I would vote that it be a subjective, sliding scale based on number of years on the series, particularly in comparison to other performers currently on the show. TAnthony 05:02, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Satterfield - out?[edit]

Someone edited the article, putting PS under "comings & goings," yet I haven't heard anything announcing this. If someone can provide a source, please do...else it should probably be removed. DtownG 12:33, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brittany Underwood[edit]

I just wanted to say that I read in the latest Soap Opera Weekly that the actress, who plays Starr's school friend, Langston, has recently been put on contract. It says something to the effect that we'll be seeing more of her as she's just been put on contract.

Cast List[edit]

I am curious as to why the castlist section for this article has dissapeared. Gregor_The_Guy 12:05 P.M. 27 October 2006

Character links[edit]

Someone has linked all character names in the lists on the main page, which is good policy, but in the case of a soap that's been on for almost 40 years results in a lot of red links. Plus, as the History sections are expanded the problem gets worse. My suggestion is that we start creating "Family" articles for some of the characters no longer on the show who are notable but not necessarily worthy of their own article at this point, and redirect these characters there. For example, The Woleks — Larry and Karen perhaps deserve their own articles in the future, but the primary focus right now is probably on current characters, so they as well as Danny, Vince, Anna, Wanda etc. can have a home article. This would also work for the Sanders, Vernons etc. As a matter of fact, even Buchanan, Lord and Cramer family pages would provide a central place for misc. family members and stubs (like, Victor and Meredith Lord probably don't need their own articles). These family pages would also include links to major characters like Viki, of course. Take a look at House Corrino for one example. TAnthony 19:37, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Catherine Hickland[edit]

Hickland keeps getting put back into the current cast section, but as far as I know she is still no longer on contract. The entire reason the Recurring section exists is for this purpose. Someone recently changed "Current contract cast members" to "Current cast members"; reverting this might make it more clear but it seems like the other shows don't spell it out that clearly either. FYI, "Contract" and "Recurring" is the actual terminology used in daytime to note a performer's status. TAnthony 18:43, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't changed anything but I thought I read in SOD a few months ago that Hickland was put back in contract but I could be totally wrong. I'll have to watch the credits to figure it out. 131.156.240.89 04:54, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Jessica[reply]

Coming and going[edit]

I am wondering why there are constantly edits/reverts in this section regarding ridiculous minutae like whether or not to include the year, or "Temp." vs. "Temporarily" or even "Temp. Returns" vs. "Returns Temp." Is there some "standard" that should be followed, or are 15 people going to rewrite every new entry back and forth? Or can we at least agree on one way of doing this? TAnthony 00:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article improvement[edit]

I think that this article could potentially get to Good Article status. In order to get there though, I recommend:

  • Split out the lists to separate "List" articles
  • Turn the other bullet-point sections into actual prose
  • Expand the lead, per WP:LEAD
  • List more mainstream sources, per WP:V

Number of episodes[edit]

According to various magazines and internet articles, the show will air episode 10,000 August 17. I put it in there already because something told me it was not correct. 9,983 episodes July and 10,000 August 17? No way that was right. Soapfan06 00:52, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the 10,000th episode was aired on July 30. But from what I understand, some of the actors that came back weren't available for that show, so they had to push it back, which is why it didn't air until a few weeks later. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.151.176.30 (talk) 01:00, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Title sequences section[edit]

I am questioning the need for this restored section. It seems not notable and trivial, which is why the separate article was deleted. 21:32, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I just thought it should be re-included becuase the article was deleted; plus every other U.S. soap page has one. --Yllianos 00:14, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine that you restored it, I just wanted to start the discussion. I hadn't realized that that all the US soaps had them, but I still think they're kind of pointless, LOL. TAnthony 01:33, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, there are some people out there who are interested in the history, no matter how insignificant. (Looks at shoes...) YeahI thought I'd just put it out there. Good day. --Yllianos 06:28, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Opening Sequence[edit]

Hello. I am posting this message in reply to the edit made by Koolguy106 on 7/12/08 under 'Title sequences'. These performers have not yet been included, seeing as how no sequence update has occurred since last December. At that time, Austin Williams had been seen very little, and Chris Stack had JUST debued, and had not yet had much of a fan following as Michael. The others listed as not having been included have been listed because they weren't in the sequence during the duration of their stay. Title sequences aside, I don't normally post messages on the duscussion pages for this reason, but this would have been too long a summary to post in 'Edit Summary', being that I feel that this edit deservs a detailed summary. Thank you! --OLTL2002 (talk) 04:09, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Title sequences section[edit]

In regards to the Title sequences section of this article, I am questioning its general notability. I know all of the shows seem to have them and they are somewhat interesting, but they really seem to be the definition of trivia. In particular, this article's section contains lots of trivial facts about minor changes and detailed actor notes, and also some original research in the form of assumptions and conclusions about why certain actors appear or don't appear, etc. If this article were to undergo peer review, that entire section would probably be slashed to bits. What does everyone else think? — TAnthonyTalk 19:07, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In response to this comment on my talk page, I'd like to clarify that though general notes on the titles over the years may be acceptable (the first few parts are OK), the bulk of this is full of all kinds of unnecessary trivia and detail:
  • "A double-font combo was continued, this time utlizing a variant of Peignot type for actors and crew members (think Mary Tyler Moore Show font, only with all letters the same size), and Helvetica for crew titles & character names. However, the first letter of every word on the production title/character line would be in the Peignot variant. The credits' color would go from being dark orange in the early months, then yellow from mid-1985 to December 1987, bright orange during 1988, and finally yellow again from early 1989 until December 1991. Also, the font went from being semi-transparent in early months, back to very transparent during the latter half of 1985, and then semi-embossed again in early 1986. During most of 1988, the credits became extra embossed, but from the start of 1989 through the end of 1991, the black embossment was toned down to a normal level."
  • "In 1997, the theme's sound was slightly modified from the 1995 version"
  • "Around June 1983, the Bauhaus credit setup would be replaced as a result of Jean Arley's arrival as OLTL's new executive producer. The credits would again remain white, but would revert back to being centered as they had been years before. The font changed to a combo of small Helvetica (for production titles/character names) and larger Franklin Bold (for crew and actors' names)."
There are also examples of POV:
  • "In May 2002 the theme was again re-recorded and had a smoother/softer beat compared to the previous 2001 version")
and OR:
  • "Also noted, is the failure to remove certain cast members despite their exit"
  • "for the first time since the debut of this opening, the version with Robert S. Woods became opening A with his new posed image and Robin Strasser's version became opening B" (the editor is actually "naming" the versions)
All of which is, of course, unsourced. I think we need to keep in mind what is really notable as a whole to the general reader; the opening changing significantly between eras is more or less notable, but the fact that they "were refreshed with more saturation and images became more opaque" one year is probably not. I think it is appropriate to describe each unique opening, briefly summarize any notable variations and then move on to the next one.
I'm intending to do a rewrite/cleanup, but I wanted to start a discussion on the subject because I know the trivia nuts will revert it if it is perceived as one editor's opinion. — TAnthonyTalk 23:20, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Number of episodes[edit]

Ok can somebody tell me how they got 10,358 episodes when the 10,000th episode aired on August 17? I counted from back than up until now and I got 10,365 as of January 30, 2009, I don't know about you but ABC is unreliable in this source, whoever keeps changing it please stop, I got the right number, if you exclude, Labor Day 2007, Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving 2007, Christmas and New Years Day 2007 and 2008, Memorial Day 2008, 4th of July 2008, Labor Day 2008, Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving 2008, Christmas Eve and Day 2008, and New Years Eve and Day 2008, and 2009, and the inauguration day from last week and every weekend that number should include 10,365 days as of January 30. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.185.181.8 (talk) 03:40, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PJ, please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia:No original research. I don't know which number is right and you may be 100% correct, but an editor counting something is not a reliable source. If the website didn't have the information, we could look the other way and assume you are correct in good faith. But until there's a reliable, verifiable external source which supports your number, your version is "inadmissable." You have already violated WP:3RR by reverting to your number four times, please do not push this. It is not going to kill anyone to have the number be off by a couple of episodes, this is a trivial fact. But any administrator who looks at this situation would support the number supported by the source, and note that you are violating policy by contradicting it. Come on, this is one of those compromises we've talked about.— TAnthonyTalk 03:51, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Head writers[edit]

OK, I've seen these dates changed back and forth many times ... would anyone care to present arguments here as to what is going on? Once again, a source of some kind would go a long way to settle any dispute. These facts are too trivial to be an ongoing change situation. — TAnthonyTalk 03:02, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you two at it again?? Please present both sides of the case here, I can't believe you're starting an edit war over a week. — TAnthonyTalk 19:29, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ron Carlivati was credited at Head Writer in the February 15 episode, and then Gary Tomlin was credited as Head Writer on February 18. Thank you. --OLTL2002 (talk) 23:38, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your response. User:Onelifefreak2007 states here that it was Feb. 14 & 15. You can't both be right so ... — TAnthonyTalk 15:05, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Headwriter list is incorrect. For one thing, the Corringtons wrote from mid-84 until the end of 84, not 83. They turned the show into a mafia show, and famously killed off heroine Samantha Vernon. ~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.67.9.239 (talk) 17:10, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect of Craig Watkinson[edit]

I just redirected Craig Watkinson here, if anyone feels they can provide sources, they can merge this material into this article. Ikip (talk) 01:57, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title sequence redux[edit]

I wholeheartedly object to Carmaker1's restoration here of the exhaustive title sequence information to this article with the explanation that it is "needed." This is the very definition of trivia that will only be detrimental to any attempts to have the article rise in quality assessment. I'm sure I've seen this information collected on external websites, and readers can be directed to them via External links.— TAnthonyTalk 03:59, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the spirit of compromise, I will, however, take a look at the Waggett book (which I know notes the title sequence changes) and see about adding brief mentions of notable changes in the Series history section. This will probably not include detailed descriptions about birds and the sunset, LOL. I would like to note for the record, however, that the book itself is called One Life to Live 40th Anniversary Trivia Book, so of course it does, by definition, contain a lot of info that is not necessarily appropriate for this article.— TAnthonyTalk 05:39, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Of course you object to it, since you never came up with it yourself and how it doesn't personally interest you. The General Hospital must have a poor quality assessment then as no one bothered to remove all that trivial info. You do need to lighten up a little a bit. I have tried to be polite with you these 3 years but your bitterness can be awful at times. I'll remove all the title sequence sections if it's so imperative to you that it disappears. The content of the article still looks much better than some of the others on other television programs. I really prefer that civility between all of us being in full existence here. Calling what I reinstated stupid info doesn't show that.-Carmaker1 (talk) 07:18, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry if you're offended, but I'm not the first person who has made an issue of these sections, and historically you seem to add and restore them without making a valid argument, or finding examples of similar info in articles which have been peer-reviewed or assessed in other ways. I do find OLTL trivia interesting (I own the book!) but much of it has no place in WP articles. Soap-related articles are so full of junk as it is, and as you know the most action they get is from soap fans adding badly-spelled updates on what happens every day. I don't think the General Hospital article has ever been looked at seriously, you can't use "no one has taken it out yet" as an excuse when there are so many other soap articles in existence for a long time that would be deleted on sight if anyone bothered to look. The GH article has a few small problems but I'm pretty confident the title stuff would get picked apart in a formal review. Why don't you request a peer review of it?— TAnthonyTalk 07:44, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And by the way, this also violates policy, as you are providing links to copyrighted material that is being published on the web without the explicit permission of the copyright holder (see WP:ELNEVER, you've got them in the GH article too). I'm sorry, but it's hard for me to trust your opinions when you show lapses in understanding of policy like this. I don't mean to have been harsh in the past, but it's a little frustrating for you restore information and just say "it's needed" with no reasonable argument as to why.— TAnthonyTalk 08:00, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
They are a lot of cases in which material violates WP:ELNEVER, but haven't been removed and the copyright holder has a lack of interest. Many articles are guilty of it, but I guess it's better to start with this page and AMC's by keeping them 100% free of any violations.Carmaker1 (talk) 20:20, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Significance of OLTL's NYC production[edit]

I restored info that was deleted (described as "unnecessary"), about OLTL's status (when ATWT goes off the air in September) as the only remaining soap to be broadcast from NYC. This is significant, from a historical perspective, in that at one time, nearly all soaps broadcast from NYC, but as of September, OLTL will be the only remaining soap to broadcast from NYC.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.115.41.5 (talkcontribs) 02:36, April 13, 2010

While I agree this tidbit is somewhat interesting from a trivial perspective, I'd like to see a citation for a reliable article which actually notes this, thus asserting its notability.— TAnthonyTalk 07:04, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Senior cast members[edit]

Before I find myself in an edit war, I'd like to reopen the issue of senior cast members noted in the infobox, which I know we've discussed somewhere in the past. There is obviously no policy on the qualifications, but I would think that it would be a subjective, sliding scale based on number of years on the series, particularly in comparison to other performers currently on the show. Slezak has been there since 1971, and Strasser and Woods since 1979 (each with a few years off the series in between). At some point in the last few months someone added Hilary Smith (1992) and Kassie DePaiva (1993), which I suppose are OK because though are while not as long-running, they have been on for over a decade (and almost two). My recent issue over the additions of ver Dorn (2005), St. John (2003), and Easton (2003) is simply that they haven't even been on for 10 years ... and what about Fumero (1998), Archer (2001), Lavoisier (2002), Bree Williamson (2003), and even Tuc Watkins (1994-96, 2001-present)? There needs to be a reasonable low end to the scale or there'll be 20 people listed in the infobox.— TAnthonyTalk 21:16, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this edit summary by CloudKade11; St. John did not come on the show in 1992 with Smith, you are thinking of the character's previous portrayer, Roger Howarth. Also, Strasser was off the show for a total of 9 years (1987-1993, 2000-2003), not "dozens" as you suggest here. You seem a little inconsistent and rusty on the facts, perhaps you should discuss your edits and participate in discussions before you make controversial edits and revert other people's edits.— TAnthonyTalk 23:54, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Going off the air when?[edit]

The article states: "On April 14, 2011, ABC announced that One Life to Live would end its run in January 2012." However, other sources say it will end in September of this year (2011), with All My Children leaving the air in January of next year. 64.85.240.22 (talk) 22:18, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 17 December 2011[edit]

A few minor edit requests since the article is blocked:

Proposed changes:

1. Current: "One Life to Live (OLTL) is an American soap opera which debuted on July 15, 1968 and has been broadcast on the ABC television network." Proposed change: "One Life to Live (OLTL) is an American soap opera which debuted on the ABC television network on July 15, 1968." I believe the phrase "and has been broadcast..." is superfluous, as long as OLTL has aired exclusively on ABC throughout its entire run. The edit is stronger because it is able to express the same information in a more compact and less cumbersome manner.

2. Current: "On April 14, 2011, ABC announced that it had canceled One Life to Live; citing low ratings, high production costs and change of tastes from viewers." Proposed change: "On April 14, 2011, ABC announced that it had canceled One Life to Live, citing low ratings, high production costs and viewers' changing tastes." The semi-colon in this sentence is grammatically incorrect. It should either be changed to a comma, or the sentence should be rewritten altogether. Also, the phrase "change of tastes from viewers" is a bit awkward. The reader certainly understands what is meant, but technically, "changing tastes" don't actively come FROM viewers in the same way opinions or views do. Changing tastes occur over a greater period of time and are more passive in nature. The rewrite better reflects this nuance.

Thanks for considering these minor edits.

Minor Editing Privileges?[edit]

Greetings,

I see the need for some copy editing , but this article's editing privileges are restricted. My previous edit requests were granted, so I believe my efforts would improve the article's readability and quality. I am not interested in editing the article for content whatsoever, and I am certainly not interested in vandalizing this article. Is there any way I could get editing privileges, if I promise to limit myself to very minor edits and proceed with caution? I would suggest edits as I have done above, but this can be quite tedious. Thanks for your consideration. First down comets (talk)

For example, this sentence under "Series history" definitely needs work: "ABC began to secretly auditioning a few talk shows to maybe be placed in their daytime lineup." First down comets (talk)

Okay, an editor minimally fixed the above sentence, but stylistically, it would arguably be better and more accurate to state that "ABC began to secretly "plan" or "develop," not "audition," and the word "perhaps" or "possibly" would work better than "maybe." The word "maybe," in the above context anyway, is too informal for an encyclopedia article. Thanks First down comets (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 00:01, 3 January 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Missing prime time actor[edit]

Hello. I am just writing because I noticed someone was missing from an area; "Actors who were with the show and became more widely known from their prime-time television or feature film work include Judith Light, Blair Underwood, Roma Downey, Laurence Fishburne, Tommy Lee Jones, Mario Van Peebles, Ryan Phillippe, Esther Rolle, Elisabeth Rohm, Nathan Fillion, and Jessica Tuck."

Joe Lando, who played Jake Harrison, husband to Jessica Tuck's Megan Gordon, went on to prime time as Byron Sully on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman for six seasons. He also starred in a show called Higher Ground which launched the career of Hayden Christensen, A.J. Cook, and Jewel Staite. Anyway, I think Joe Lando should be added to the list above. Proposed Merge[edit]

I propose select merging of List of One Life to Live crew to One_Life_to_Live#Executive_producers_and_head_writers — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrLinkinPark333 (talkcontribs) 18:07, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK, it doesn't look like there was any real discussion on this, but the result to the main article of merging this huge list is RIDICULOUS. The EP and head writer lists are at least somewhat notable (though the head writer list is huge) but the lists of every writer, AD, and producer (all levels!) is kinda crazy to be in the middle of the main article. As it is, I daresay some of it pushes the limits of notability, but at least as a separate list it's manageable and we're not forcing every reader to scroll through all that trivia. The next thing you know we'll be including the full cast list as well??— TAnthonyTalk 19:13, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OLTL Cast Member Years[edit]

Okay how does this work out, first off the show ended on ABC January 13, 2012. The show started again on April 29, 2013. January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012 is one calender year, okay so 365 days after OLTL ended on ABC would be January 13, 2013, making that one calender year, So the cast year should be 2012, 2013. That's what I think. P.J. (talk) 20:05, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion re: links[edit]

In the last paragraph of the section "2013 Revivial" there is a wikilink "lawsuit against ABC" which points to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prospect_Park_(production_company)#Litigation_with_ABC , however, this section does not appear on that article (in fact, the Prospect Park article redirects elsewhere). The lawsuit is mentioned on this page in the section following the wikilink, "Transition to General Hospital".

Therefore, the wikilink should be removed.

Thanks for pointing this out. Prospect Park (production company) was redirected to The Firm, Inc., but information about the litigation is at The Online Network, so I will analyze the interlinks between these articles and other and figure out the best way to fix any confusion.— TAnthonyTalk 17:07, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the semi-protected lock from One Life to Live, please. 70.118.200.140 (talk) 10:41, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not done No, because following a long-term pattern of abuse from anonymous editors, indefinite protection of the page was required. livelikemusic talk! 01:15, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 13 August 2016[edit]

There is a typographical error in the "hours column" of the starting time:

Schedule

The show aired on ABC Daytime for the entirety of its original television run.

July 15, 1968 – July 23, 1976
1:30–4:00 pm (2:30–3:00 pm, CT/PT)

It should be changed to:

Schedule

The show aired on ABC Daytime for the entirety of its original television run.

July 15, 1968 – July 23, 1976
3:30–4:00 pm (2:30–3:00 pm, CT/PT)

Doris Quinlan should really be listed as Exec Producer from 1968 to 1977--the names listed here were producers but not the top position. This has been confirmed in numerous sources from the book Llanview in the Afternoon: An Oral History of One Life to Live (Giles) to the recent Ellen Holly interview which mentions the controversy of Joseph Stuart replacing her (https://interviews.televisionacademy.com/people/doris-quinlan) to the 1976 OLTL dissertaion on the writing methods of Gordon Russell and Sam Hall which details a meeting Russell had with Quinlan. We also have her name as EP on a 1976 episode that has been released featuring the birth of Kevin Buchanan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EricMontreal22 (talkcontribs) 22:05, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
