Images[edit]

This page would probably look more complete if there was a picture of the 'hand' thing. Does anyone have one not in copyright or know where I can get one? ElphaPearl (talk) 16:59, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are none not covered by copyright since the character designs are copyrighted. Belle pullman (talk) 20:38, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uk tour[edit]

In the uk tour, they changed the lyrics on the last line. Does anyone have any idea what either character is saying on this line? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.67.159.6 (talk) 15:50, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SO Inaccurate[edit]

This entire article is so inaccurate I don't know where to begin. Also the song is hardly notable enough to have its own encyclopaedia entry! I don't think this should be a separate article, but detail about the revisions should be included in the main Starlight Express article. If you want to keep it, please do some fact checking, find notability and references, and make it worthwhile! Belle pullman (talk) 15:46, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about it is incorrect?
It seems to start halfway through the song's chronology, for a start. Mazz0626 (talk) 10:21, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Next time you fall in love[edit]

"The most glaring contextual nonsensities in the show have appeared at this point in the plot, including Don Black's "Back then was when we touched the Starlight". Rusty and Pearl have a minimal relationship at the beginning of the show, they have no significant past other than a tentative agreement to race together. And while (in the London staging) Rusty did touch the Starlight Express, Pearl was clearly not with him."

Are Pearl and Rusty not referring to the short time they spent together? Understandably, Rusty possibly has more reason to sing that particular line than Pearl, but perhaps Pearl is starting to realise (and being a bit dizzy, it would take her a while) that the time spent with Rusty was the most magical that the time she spent as Electra\Greaseball's coach? Correct me if I'm wrong! ElphaPearl (talk) 18:31, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, the lyrics just do not relate to the show. Belle pullman (talk) 22:06, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's just the thing, they didn't spend any time together. Mazz0626 (talk) 00:23, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was under the impression that Rusty and Pearl had agreed to race together prior to the show. ElphaPearl (talk) 18:11, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"Say, um, Pearl, there's this big race we have every year, you wanna go with me?" "Ok, sure!" doesn't really count as a relationship. The other coaches talk her out of it almost immediately. Mazz0626 (talk) 21:08, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps she knew she loved Rusty even then, but was afraid to admit it to her friends, who obviously think Rusty uncool and slow? ElphaPearl (talk) 17:23, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Either way, it's not in the show. All that is mentioned is that they agreed to race, and since Pearl is new, she wouldn't have known the full implications of the races at that time. It is quite clear from her behaviour that she doesn't think who you're partnered to particularly matters, so long as you have a partner to race with. The other coaches seem pretty fond of Rusty, just realistic about his chances of racing against the big boys. If she is in love with him throughout the show she hides it much better than someone so blonde that they're pink should be able to. Mazz0626 (talk) 18:48, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
