Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... the deletion doesn't make sense. Why do you want it deleted?.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sgtpatrick25 (talkcontribs) 01:50, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... i am trying to post a brewery and is historical background. While doing so I started with talking about where the brewery is located and what beers are on tap. I didn't get a chance to go into the history of the town, the historical significance of the building. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sgtpatrick25 (talkcontribs) 01:54, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Sgtpatrick25: Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. For a brewery, or any subject, to have its own Wikipedia article, the brewery or other subject must have received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. This coverage is usually referenced using footnotes, and the article as you created it didn't have any. But I've added a few, so the article no longer meets the criteria for speedy deletion. For a lot more information about this, take a look at Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Notability (breweries). Mudwater (Talk) 02:47, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
