Where did it get its name Ormoc?--Jondel 08:43, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Removed copyvio[edit]

Sorry for the revert without explanation. I was confirming Seav's earlier revert. The "History" section added by anon IP 205.132.171.201 was copied from: http://www.mission.net/philippines/tacloban/page.php?lang=eng&pg_id=1750. That anon user did the same thing on many Leyte towns, they will be a pain to revert. I'm hoping we get word that they're copied with permission or in the public domain. -Eisnel (talk) 02:24, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

<Cityname> <City>[edit]

There is a discussion regarding the removal of the word "city" from the article titles of Philippine cities. This may imminently affect the article name for Ormoc. For city names which are not unique, disambiguation alternatives are also being presented. Formal request for page move may follow after a reasonable time of discussion. If you wish to participate, please post your comments here. --JinJian (talk) 04:17, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

Suggested Improvements[edit]

The 1991 Flash flood section should be expounded. It should contain the aftermath of the flood and the construction of the flood mitigation structure in the Anilao and Malbasag Rivers.

The "Transport and Communications" section is poorly written. The companies are not in their official name. But I think it would be better if the section is deleted altogether.

The "Energy" section is too short. There must be more to talk about the Energy Development Company, e.g. when it came to Ormoc.

There should be a section containing the Tugob Festival, and about how it replaced the Pinyahan Festival.
