The UFC is advertising their next show on Spike TV on December 13th as UFC Fight Night 7, not this event. [1] I'm thinking that this article should be renamed Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3: The Final Chapter. Unless someone disagrees with me for some reason. Lewi9486 19:35, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sherdog.com still lists the event as UFC Fight Night 7. I'd like to see what they do with the event before we move the page (UFN 6.5 maybe?) but i think it should be UFC Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3 for the time being. hateless 19:44, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, so UFC.com now has plenty of detail on the card now. I suppose we should move the page now to make way for a new UFN 7 page, but I still prefer UFC Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3, because it omits the subtitle and it starts with UFC, which if you notice the old Ultimate Fight Night articles, is something like a required element in the name, and could differentiate it from a potential Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz article about the feud and fights. hateless 19:59, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Naming dispute[edit]

The Spike TV program scheduled for December 13, 2006 is being called UFC Fight Night 7 by UFC.com. [2] I think we should forget what MMA websites are calling the event (MMANews, Sherdog). If we name the article for the December Spike TV broadcast UFC Fight Night 8, then it will only cause further naming disputes when the UFC schedules a UFC Fight Night 8 later down the road. I agree that we should settle on a different name for the Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3: The Final Chapter article. Since we switched the names of the articles, I think it is important that we keep the notice at the head of each article (I have included one for both the Ortiz-Shamrock and Fight Night 7 articles). That way, if someone is directed to the wrong article, they will immediately find clarification at the top of the entry. --Wyldephang 23:57, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At the weigh-ins for UFC Fight Night on December 12, Bruce Buffer announced the card as "Ultimate Fight Night 7". Whether we call it UFC Fight Night or Ultimate Fight Night is of little significance, but the video does prove that the UFC did not count Ortiz-Shamrock III as a part of the core UFC Fight Night series. [3] This should put an end to the dispute. 70.17.21.212 06:27, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First fight?[edit]

The lead starts by describing the second time they met. Wouldn't it be prudent to start with the first time they met, whenever that was? Tony2Times (talk) 19:09, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

UFC Fight Night 6.5Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3 – The Final ChapterWP:COMMONNAME "UFC Fight Night 6.5" is not a common name for this event, to the point that I consider the parenthetical statement "also known as UFC Fight Night 6.5" to be misinformation. The event should be represented as the one-off event it was billed as at the time.[4] Dancter (talk) 01:40, 31 January 2018 (UTC)--Relisting.
