new name?[edit]

I wish the wikipedian who renamed this article from Osama bin Laden bodyguard to Alleged bodyguards of Osama bin Laden had discussed this first.

I think adding "Alleged" is a mistake. The context of the references make clear that these are allegations. Or they are in direct quotes from memos of allegations. People aren't accused of being an "alleged Osama bin Laden bodyguard". They are just accused of being OBL bodyguards. The alleged is implied in the accusation.

I am going to list this on wikipedia:requested moves.

responsible use of tags[edit]

This article was recently {{prod}}ed.

Nominator asserted "Sourced to primary sources only, and primarily from one source, to boot. No real possibility of expansion in that case, and certainly not encyclopedic, as we don't have an overview, merely the testimony of one man."

Google news finds almost 800 news references to this term, so I am removing the prod. Geo Swan (talk) 11:57, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Then I'll take this to AfD. MSJapan (talk) 16:41, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

explanation[edit]

I trimmed some material on a couple of the less significant alleged bodyguards. Geo Swan (talk) 18:11, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removal[edit]

I removed this:

"Allegedly confessed that some of the individuals who were to become 9-11 hijackers had first served as Osama Bin Laden bodyguards.[1]"

as i could not find it in the attached reference. John4263 (talk) 22:58, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
