The changes to the logo that XLerate made are incorrect. The green colour scheme logo is for their website only. The logo with the traditional otago colours is the actual official logo of the group. I would change this but it says that I am not allowed. Please revert the logo picture to the real official logo with the blue and gold colour scheme or include both images on the page. The logo per the Otago NORML website and this article ought to be the same. Is there a webiste or other proof of an alternate logo using the university colours? I suspect the unversity has told NORML that it legally cannot use its name or logo, must be reasonably differentiated. XLerate (talk) 04:41, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, that logo is for the Otago NORML website which is somewhat of a separate entity. The logo using the traditional blue and gold colours is the offical logo and it exists on the website on a page where it is available for download (search 'logo' within the site), it also exists in sticker and t-shirt format and has been published in the Critic magazine. The University has not said not to use the logo, and it is standard practice for University clubs to use a modified version of the University shield with club specific imagery (along the lines of the Rowing Club and Debating Society among others). Third opinion: Hi, the logo that is used must be the one on their website, unless a reference to an "official" logo can be found for this group. They state that they are not officially part of NORML NZ and so their logo can't be used. The reader is the important bit of an encyclopaedia and if they see one logo on wikipedia and another on the website for this group, that will lead to confusion and this must not be allowed. Merge proposal[edit]

With regards to merging 2008 Otago NORML protests into this article I oppose on the grounds that they are two quite separate, stand alone articles. If anything there may be a need for a NORML New Zealand article to tie them all together. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 09:56, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
